Jolshiri names after a mystical river famed in poetry, is the exciting new sister restaurant to the highly acclaimed and award winning Sesame in New Maldon. Our menu is carefully designed by our chefs to appeal to the taste of those newer curry fans as we
This was one of our favourite places however after the last visit, we won't be going anymore. I don't know what's happened. It was never very cheap but the food was always good and we felt it was worthwhile. However, not this time. When our curries arrived, couldn't believe how small they were! Normally we'd have 2 naans, one rice between us and a curry each and it was enough. We were still hungry. And the curries were just ordinary., at best The naan bread was also small and somewhat burnt - more than it should be. Since when do they charge so much for a few dips for the poppadoms? We didn't ask for them and hardly touched them and were charged! The atmosphere was not good and we felt somewhat ripped off when we left. Such a shame. Unlikely to ever return.Thank you for your feedback on the good quality of our food. We are pleased to know that Jolshiri is one of your favourite restaurants. Our traditional form of culinary preparation means that no preservatives or artificial colours are involved in the preparation of our dishes, only pure food with pure taste and pure colour. We are also happy to boast a wide variety of both vegetarian and
Lovely food although a lot of the dishes had the same taste.....we all shared. The waiter that remembered the meals of all eight of us was quite impressive. He only got one thing wrong...plain naan arrived instead of keema....didnât upset him by telling him though He was great for a bit of banter.Only negative was that you have to fight for any glasses of tap water and they donât give you a jug of it...had to keep asking for it... uncomfortable.Overall a good evening was had by all so will definitely go back again.

This is just up the road from where I work, and on occasion we have called in after work, as everyone knows, a curry after work is one of life's little luxuries.Have been here a few times now, and the food and service has always been good. As we go relatively early (usually around 6pm) there is never a problem getting a table. The staff are friendly, warm, helpful and courteous. I did ask once for an off menu item, which they happily arranged for me.The poppadum's are always crisp, and there is a very wide selection of chutneys and pickles. My favourite is the yellowy orange coconut that goes well with pretty much every other chutneyI have tried a few of the starters now, but I think the Sheek Kebab is my favourite, served on a sizzle platter with plenty of onions frying.I now get a Chicken Pathia (not on the menu) which is one of the best I have ever tasted. Really good food, great service, and a warm and welcoming atmosphere make this an ideal venue for an after work curry. We are going again next week, and taking another workmate.Keep up the good work.
