Average taste average service. In fact it was annoying service. One of our party was late and they refused to serve poppadoms while we waited saying we all had to have ordered before they gave us those so that seems pretty stupid. Then for the rest of the night we had to ask for everything we wanted twice before we got it.The overall flavour of the food was pretty average. There are better Indian restaurants in Durham.

Had the King Prawn Sagwalla with mushroom pilau and garlic naan. All excellent. Friendâs Tandoori Cocktail also very tasty - sizzling & plentiful. Food service polite & efficient but could have been a bit more forthcoming with keeping our drinks replenished. Overall good value.

We decided to revisit Spice lounge after 2 years and a bad experience.Arrived 6pm. We were shown to a table straight away. Ordered a bottle of wine while we looked over menu.Ordered 2 starters 2 mains 1 rice and nan bread. Which was just the right amount for us. Ordered chicken tikka Rogan Josh described as medium to hot - OMG it wasnât even mild! It smelt off!!!! My wife ordered Chicken Tikka Masala which in here own words âthis is very poor and doesnât taste like masalaâ. We will definitely not be going back to this restaurant again.

Thali Tuesdays! Yes please, thankfully I arrived on a Tuesday! Two beautiful curries, rice, naan, Bombay potatoes, and a starter for £10.95! Wow! The menu here is very interesting too, there is a lot of dishes Iâve not tried before. I went away very happy, thanks guys.

Spent the night in Ferryhill on way home from our holidays and we were a bit apprehensive taking our 6 year old into an Indian, sheâs not a curry fan, but she loved it. Not a traditional meal but we managed to get something for her to eat.My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals, really tasty, and the service was outstanding. Not from the area but would love to come back.

Shaheens is a well established buisness Located 100 yards from durham cathedral Shaheen's is a warm and welcoming place For families and individuals Shaheens has been serving durham for over 30 years, priding ourselves in a traditional and authentic india
What a great experience! We visited on Saturday night. We hadnât booked and arrived early and were lucky enough to get a table. On arrival, we told the waiter about my husbandâs allergy to cowâs milk and the staff were amazing. The chef came out of the kitchen to advise us on the dishes we could eat and she offered to take our order to ensure that we selected options that were free from cowâs milk. The food arrived and we were not disappointed. The popadoms, onion bhajis, tandoori king prawns, prawn dupiaza and prawn madras were absolutely delicious. The staff even made my husband his own parathas bread made from oil rather than butter. The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable. It is great to find a restaurant with employees that really care. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you very much for a fantastic experience!
