Visited Mount Gurkha tonight after enjoying a previous visit a few months ago. Tonight was a disgusting experience. Service on arrival was adequate, seated in good time, and drinks orders taken near immediately. However, the evening got exponentially worse. We were again asked by another member of staff whether weâd had our drinks order taken, illustrating poor communication between the waiting staff. After our drinks finally arrived we werenât acknowledged for at least another 10 minutes to take our order, despite the restaurant being moderately busy, and when our order was eventually taken it took nearly 20 minutes for our starters to arrive and a further 40 minutes for our mains! There were two sets of cutlery set out for each person to use. I used my first set for my starter, expecting to use my second for my mains, but found that our waitress had taken away my clean cutlery and left my dirty ones to use! I darenât wonder if that had gone straight onto another table, because when we received our plates for our main courses they were unclean and stained yellow. Furious as we were, we didnât want the hassle of complaining so we continued with our meal. Our mains were of an acceptable standard, but because of the poor experience weâd had up to this point it psychologically made everything taste worse and we couldnât bring ourselves to finish the meal. To wash away the taste I asked for a simple glass of tap water. Surely there could be no simpler task? Wrong. The water had a ruthlessly sour taste of curry to it, which I didnât believe to be possible, yet I found myself in distress over the beverage. One sip was enough. By this point the restaurant was almost empty, yet on asking for the bill we waited 10 minutes and saw no signs of it at all. So, we asked another waitress who then immediately brought us it with no questions. Appalling service! 2 hours of my time spent and wasted at Mount Gurkha. Never again.

Visited early Saturday evening without booking. Only a few people seated but already busy with takeaway customers.Greeting was friendly & we were seated promptly. Immediately offered poppadoms which came quickly with a large (7) & interesting array of pickles/chutneys. Ordered one starter & 2 mains. Starter came quickly enough - chicken tikka pakora - quite tasty, batter a little soft maybe & with a small lettuce/tomato array. Mains were Chicken Tikka Green & a Lamb Katloma. We had quite a wait for these, maybe 35-40 minutes (by now it was relatively busy with a lot of takeaway customers waiting). The Katloma is essentially a large pasty type thing with a lamb curry filling; not sure I would order this again - firstly it's really big (enough for 2 people almost), also it comes with spiced potatoes AND rice so a bit of a carb overload. Also the pastry wasn't completely cooked inside. I think the chicken dish had suffered waiting for the katloma to cook maybe, as it had gone a little dry.Not sure what to make of this place; the décor is quite dark (dark blue carpet, table clothes, napkins) but clean enough & not unpleasant. The staff are really nice, quite attentive & polite & friendly when dealing with you. However it did seem to suffer a bit as it got busy. There are other Indian restaurant in Syston - maybe these are worth a look.

Unreal food with so much taste and ridiculously tender meat. The staff treat you so well. They take the time out to come and speak to you and although we have only been a handful of times, hey remember you which makes the experience that little bit more unique. Would never go to any other curry house.

Takeout not the same as dining in Ordered at six arrived at 7.30 same thing has happened twice before but what you receive is no different to most pre 60min Indian restaurants - food was like warm guy delivered was hoping to keep the £5 change after no apology or waiting 1.5 hrs from 6pm ! No more chances for us and tbh will look to put out dining out experience elsewhere too - sitting on last results and from experience comfort kills most businesses eventually . Thank you for your review and we would like to apologize for your experience. This will be brought up to the Owner's attention. Also, please do not let things like this to spoil the chance to really enjoy a meal out. we hope to see you again.

Ryan's Indian Cuisine, a fine dining Indian restaurant and the best Indian restaurant In Loughborough. We are located in the centre of Loughborough, a Modern designed Indian Restaurant.
My husbandâs daughter and her family were visiting from the States in June. Brought them to this restaurant as the food is alwa1ys spectacular. Son-in-law has travelled all over the world and eaten Indian food many, many times. After his meal he said that this was the best indian he had ever eaten. What praise. The atmosphere is very cheerful. The decor is really clean and modern. The members of staff canât do enough for you and want only to make your visit memorable, they certainly do that. When, sadly, the time comes to leave you are made to feel like dear friends.Had a takeaway delivered to us recently. Perfect! Hot and so delicious. As good as in the restaurant. When can I go next please?

So the food was great and the service was fast. The only concern is the gentleman taking the takeaway orders read the card number out, security code.. everything out loud to repeat to the customer on the phone so our table could have all done some free online shopping.

Took a dozen staff there for a meal after a few beers; can't fault anything:Beer was cold, Food was first rate.Service was excellent.Room was clean.Reasonably priced. The only downside is an old bug bear of mine and that is for a table of our size we were sat refrectory style rather than tables being squared off so that we caoukd all talk to each other rather than being 3 metres away from the someone at the end of the table.

I had booked by phone and must have not said my name very clearly so there was a little doubt as to whether our party was booked in. It was sorted and free poppadoms and pickles arrived to apologise for the delay without any complaint from us - a nice gesture. The menu is extensive, the food well presented and delicious, but in generous portions and as it's BYO alcohol the price is reasonable. Together with friendly efficient service what's not to like. The fact you need to book says I am not alone in loving having a great local restaurant.
