We came for late Saturday's lunch. We did not expext anything special or outstanding, but unfortunately it was so terrible experience, we left after drink.The ambience is very average and the menu don't include any vegetarian food. But the main problem was the staff- they are arrogant, unhepfull, not friendly at all and had zero interess in the guests.Avoid this place and try other one- f.e. restaurant in Happy Star Hotel or any restaurant in Znojmo.

Sehr netter Familienbetrieb mit guten Weinen und fantastischer Auswahl an Brotzeiten, ob Schinken, Pressack, Sulz, Aufstrich etc. Man sitzt entweder im Gastgarten neben den Weinhängen oder im alten Presshaus, wenn das Wetter schlecht ist. Günstige Mitnahmepreise, grosszügige Verkostungsmöglichkeit. Grosses Plus für uns Wohnmobilfahrer ist der kostenlose Stellplatz gegenüber.

+ Really clean and nice decorated local restaurant+ Very friendly staff and service (mainly coming from Czech)+ All dishes prepared in very high quality and nice decorated+ Prices are really reasonable low + Have got there on if my best âWiener Kalbsschnitzelâ since long (and as original in Austria born expat, I know what a good âKalbsschnitzelâ should be )All in all it gets my full recommendation.

The restaurant Althof is located in the hotel Althof Retz and it offers (one) of the best place where to go for dinner in Retz and nearby.The interior is very nice and maden in traditional style and the menu offers austrian dishes in a little bit more healthy way. The food and wine is delicious completed by very good service and very nice ambience. We were there many times, like it and come often back to enjoy great dinner. Highest recommanded!

I have visited Retz and I totally felt in love with that beautiful city. The restaurant is located in a glazed building surrounded by a nice white windmill and grapes plantation. I have ordered plate of meat and sausage (with pumpkin seeds). Both dishes was served with mustard, grated horseradish (delicious!) and little basked with crusty bread. I recommend you to order grape juice with soda. This compilation works really good! (it's possible to buy the juice in local store in the center of city). For the dessert I've order home made plum pie - it was also great. Service was very nice and the prices weren't high. I'm sure I'm gonna visit this place again!

Der Heurige wurde uns vom Guide der Erlebnisskellerführung empfohlen. :::))))Er hatte recht als ich ihm fragte,wo gibt es einen guten Heurigen.Bewirtung sehr freundlich.Der Spritzer sehr gschmackig.Die Brote sehr schön und vor allem gschmackig.Der Gastgarten bzw.Laube sehr einladend.So gehts auch.Einfach tip top.Absolut zum weiterempfehlen.

The expectations from visiting their website were quite high. We expected a high level, high quality restaurant. Entering the place it rather looked like a pub. One waitress was very friendly, while three were just standing around doing nothing. Quite strange. The starter and the main dish were quite ok, although did not entirely justify the pricing. The big rip-off was then the dessert. The "Powidltascherl" were especially advertised by the Czech waitress and were not even average. There is some potential in the place and maybe we only witnessed start-up problems. Hopefully they manage to improve the price-benefit ratio.
