Despite its rather industrial exterior this is a charming place to relax with a beer after skiing. The inside is done out in traditional Austrian rustic style, blending an authentic old building with a newer one. The staff are really friendly and he service and atmosphere very convivial. We really enjoyed our times here. We didnât try the food but itâs been well reviewed by others.

We were staying in a guest house in Rohrmoos so this bar situated just down from the Hochwurzen slopes was a natural stopping off point for a final beer before continuing on home. The friendly service and handy location meant that it became a regular habit for each of the 4 days we spent in the area. In the right weather, this bar is nicely situated to catch the last of the sun, so a beer and maybe a schnapps chaser in the 5pm sunshine is a great way to end a hard day's skiing!
During skiing we were here for a quick lunch. Traffic was very high, but service was kind and quick. This cottage offers typical Austrian meals for reasonable prices (soups for about 5 EUR and dishes for about 10 EUR).I recommend it for its good service and fine meals.

Important, we were not hotel guests. We came only for food, the first waiter didn't serve us as he spoke no English, or at least that's what he said. Another two just greeted us although it was pretty clear we were waiting to be seated. So after ten minutes we had enough of waiting. Pity.

We were a group of tourists with one local German speaker. The waiters seemed somewhat polite but did not expect a German speaker amongst us who understood their derogatory remarks. Basically we should bring our money then go home. Schladming is full of restaurants, you don't need to come here to be disrespected by rude, arrogant young waiters who think no one speaks their language.

Part mountain hut, part farm. Lovely place to stop if you are on a walk around the Rittisberg mountain on Ramsau or cross country skiing in winter. Children well catered for in summer and there are the usual assortment of farm animals on display. The usual inexpensive food and drinks on offer and very friendly service.

Menu with fantasy, local specialities (e.g. pumking seed and pumkin seed oil) rethought. Tradition and modenr flair perfectly combined. Relatively short menu with a lot vegetarian option, plus daily specials - always changing. Nice desserts. We were so satisfied on the first day, that came back on a second time. In high season I suggest to make a reservation, the place is popular. There is a cross contry ski track passing by, so you can make a stop there during the day, too.

THE FOOD: recommendable. Even me as a local I loved it! Had the "Tischlerei soup" which is a mix of many Austrian soups - very good. As a main I can recommend the Bull ("Schulterscherzel") - it was a very soft meat (cooked for 48hrs). As a desert we had the flower pot which reminded me of Pana Cotta. THE SERVICE: very friendly and attentive. Waitresses serve in the typical Austrian dress ("Dirndl").THE VENUE: very pretty. They managed to incorporate modern interior design into the Austrian wooden style.

We had dinner at Braunhoferâs following a friendâs suggestion. We tried different types of meet (deer, mixed grill, chicken) and their carrotsâ soup, everything was really delicious. First choice Austrian ingredients, traditionally cooked and served with a smile. Make sure to reserve a table before going.

My husband and I celebrated our 60th birthday at this quaint restaurant on the mountain. We planned the occasion from our home in South Africa and the evening exceeded our expectations. From the time we were fetched and transported to Sonnenalm we were welcomed as if we were family. Service, incredible food, fun and laughter together with their hospitality made for an evening we will never forget. Each morsel of food was so evidently lovingly prepared and presented. Homemade schnapps, handcrafted puzzle type games, chatting to the family and traditional music added to the magic of the evening. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for everything. We will dream of the day we can return.
