One thing to have lunch another to have lunch with a view. This is indeed a place with a beautiful view. Food was good, it was hot service was good as well. Would I eat here again? Most certainly yes but it would be mostly for the view.

Mal sehen, wie der Mooshubenwirt diesmal ist.Schon lange nicht mehr hiergewesen - aber es hat alles gepasst.Service schnell, freundlich und aufmerksam.Getränke gut gekühlt und rasch serviert.Speisen - besonders die geräucherte Forelle und der Schweinsbraten - sehr gut, üppige Portion.

Wir sind mit dem Sessellift auf die Mariazeller Bürgeralpe gefahren, haben dort von auÃen den riesigen Erlebnispark besichtigt (unwahrscheinliche Attraktionen für Kinder!) und sind dann bergab gewandert.Vor der Wanderung sind wir aber in, das heiÃt vor, der EdelweiÃhütte eingekehrt. Die Hütte ist prachtvoll mit bunt blühenden Blumen geschmückt, einfach herrlich. Wir sind mit Blick auf diese Blütenpracht im Gastgarten gesessen, wurden nett und freundlich bedient und haben uns mit Getränken, Kaffee und einem gut schmeckenden Obstkuchen gestärkt.

We've taken the old "nostalgie" trains of the Mariazellerbahn to this charming pilgrimage city four or five times, but it was only on our most recent visit that we chanced on this wonderful family-run restaurant NOT crowded with foreign tourists. It was raining when we arrived, and, looking bedraggled in our soggy fold-up rain ponchos, showed up at one of the better-known brewery-restaurants popular with tourists only to have the door half-shut in our faces as the proprietor pointed to a sign in German that apparently said "full." Disheartened and casting about for a dry, cozy place to retreat for food and a warm-up, we count ourselves lucky to have found the restaurant attached to the Hotel Drei Hasen just a short walk away. There, we were warmly welcomed by staff from the family running the place for the last half-century, shown to a charming table, handed menus featuring traditional dishes that made our mouths water, and treated with the friendliest, kindest attention to a fine meal with Austrians for our companions instead of foreign tourists.This is a great, warm-hearted, authentic place with some of the best local dishes we have found in Mariazell. Chilled to the bone, we opted to begin with the deliciously light and flavorful beef consommé (rindsuppe) with piquant mushroom dumplings, followed by split portions of the seasonal asparagus with Hollandaise sauce and a few potatoes, and for our main dishes, two heaping helpings of very savory beef goulash, also with potatoes. We paired this big, substantial meal with several glasses of good Zweigelt wine and immensely enjoyed both our meals and the ambience of the place. While we dined, a large party of local folks, kids and dogs in tow, showed up for a family celebration. Everyone smiled and seemed happy, and while the festivities went on, the sun came out.We lingered and enjoyed looking at all the interesting stuff on the walls, pictures of local folks celebrating, certificates and other memorabilia marking the decades of this family's ownership, and we felt lucky to have shared, vicariously, in the joy of ordinary people taking the simple pleasure of a meal together.The prices were very modest, well below what we would likely have paid at the restaurant which turned us away. To our great surprise and satisfaction, we had a friendlier, and more authentic experience, with dishes exceeding in both quality and quantity, anything we've previously had in Mariazell. On our next visit, we will come right to the Drei Hasen for lunch or dinner. We recommend you do so, too.

We've been to this restaurant at least 3 time now and the food is always good and delicious. It also has vegetarian options. The restaurant has seating facilities directly overlooking the Erlaufsee and Mariazell which is really pleasant while having food. Staff is friendly and helpful and always with a smile. Service was timely and good.

Right opposite the Basilika of Mariazell you'll find a large building with "Hotel Goldener Löwe" written on it. In the ground- and first floor is the "Pirker", a coffee shop and home of "Mariazeller Lebzelt" (sweet shortbread). The coffee is very good, unfortunately, we went there twice and got rather "old" cake, which was very, very expensive (taking its age into consideration).As I said, nice to visit, but be careful what you order.

We often have coffee and deserts in this beautiful restaurant. Service is good and friendly. The interior is pleasing. The pastries are locally made and tasty. The portions served are generous. Waitress are traditionally dressed.The restaurant maintains good level of cleanliness and hygiene.

great restaurant (homegrown beef straight from the barn!), close proximity to the cross-counry ski track and a private sauna in your bathroom (at least if you book the "komfortzimmer")...that's what winter holidays should always look like! the owner is a nice guy and flexible enough to also cater to vegetarian travel companions!

The place looks rather nice (if you don't get seated in the corridor next to the entrance). I love the beer, which is also reasonable priced, however the food is ONLY very expensive, but it is rather far below the style of "Styrian - Brauhaus Level". Dear guest,thank you for your visit. Whatever "Styrian - Brauhaus Level" means for you..............for us it means no burgers, spare ribs, fries, all kind of convinience food. We sell best local food, most of them organic, all our food is handmade, all the bread, the cakes, everything!! And if you sell best products in home-made-qualitiy - it can not be as cheap as a normal restaurant. And the places near the entrance are the last available seats before the Restaurant is booked out. Most of our guests reserve their tables in advance, we have in total only 12 tables.
