If you know about refuges and are expecting that level of comfort then this place will surpass your expectations. The outdoor area is wonderful with stylish sun shades and fabulous wind protection. We had a private room which was a real luxury. There was only one shower available for the women and as it was free hot water as long as you wanted some people gave up waiting in the queue and washed in the sinks instead. The menu was a la carte and we all enjoyed our meals. There was a well stocked bar and we borrowed a pack of cards for entertainment. Breakfast was excellent, clearly making use of the good supply chain that this refuge enjoys.

A mixed experience for the two of us. We were referred here by a similar establishment which was closed. We arrived slightly after 12 pm and the place was pretty full. The server was pretty terse with us saying there were no tables and come back in an hour. A group of 4 locals appeared within seconds of us and went into a separate room put together some tables and sat down. We found a free table outside near the road. We went back inside and she told us she wouldn't serve us for at least an hour. Hmmm. Treat the tourists different than the locals. We did return later in the day for dinner to check it out. Dinner was average. The newer server was much friendlier and the place was full of locals having dinner and/or drinks. We won't be back.

Vielleicht kehren Sie wieder einmal zu einer lustigen Törggelepatie ein!Wir würden uns auf jeden Fall freuen!

We stopped here for lunch and had spatzl with cheese which was great, as well we as other dishes. Their draft beer was really nice! Strudel portions are huge ang delicious. Friendly and quick service, completely renovated exterior, simple and practical with outside terraces!
We stayed here in July 2019 as part of a kind of honeymoon / activity holiday combo. The Oberhauser Hutte is run by three generations of the same family, and you can tell they really care about the business. The manager is super welcoming and friendly, and the whole place has a really natural friendly vibe. The food is really exceptional - we had amazing South Tyrolian dishes every night, and each one was incredible. Cooked to perfection by the younger brother of the family, served with flowers Iâm pretty sure weâre picked by the grandmother! The location is great too, there is a nice easy 5k hike on the doorstep, which takes you through a set of outdoor art installations. There are also more intermediate and advanced hikes over the hills and to the gorgeous Dolomite mountains. Itâs a really good base for exploring South Tyrol, and to relax with a beer after a good hike.Pro tip: try the zirbenshnaps. Trust me.

Consigliato.

We stayed here just a night. I wish we could have stayed longer. This is a great spot run by two brothers, David and Thomas. The food is incredible- gourmet riffs on traditional South Tyrolean cuisine. Far more upscale food and lodging than surrounding rifugi. Our room was comfortable and spacious. We would have stayed longer but someone has rented the place for Sweet 16 party (dang, wish I could have gone to that!!). English is somewhat limited here but folks are patient and looking to please so did not present a problem.

Went there for Christmas lunch and the place wasn't crowded but still busy. It took the waiters a while to take the orders, as they were really not organized, but it's forgivable, that day. What was disappointing, we ordered Filet Steak and they brought us sirloin. We made them aware, and the only thing was:" Oops, sorry, the chef run out of Filet yesterday"... this implies they knew hat before for sure and could have told us before ordering. We didn't get any discount, just a shot of grappa as apology (we don't drink alkohol)

A visit to the Bistro is the ideal way to refresh yourself after a visit to the museum or if you are simply passing by. Located in the former Habsburg officersâ mess at the heart of the Franzensfeste complex, the Bistro serves regional and seasonal dishes
Very nice cafe in historic surroundings. The staff is friendly and you can sit in the courtyard. Another huge advantage the roofs are covered in light night rods as the the Franzenfeste used to be an arms and gun powder depot for hundreds of years⦠No need to be afraid of lighting .. always good news..
