The Schanz,a very popular place among locals, has been around for many years and they have not only maintained their quality of food and service but brought it to a higher level.Excellent food and service plus an outstanding selection of fine wines round up a visit.Great ambiance in a stylish yet relaxing and cheerful Tirolean setting

Very well positioned for skiers coming from Munich or Salzburg direction and going for a week or two to the slopes of Tyrol, Vorarlberg, Alto-Adige and Eastern Switzerland. A two hours' stop for a delightful lunch means you check-in at your destination before dinner time while avoiding most of the worst traffic jams on route. Beware, though, that on the 4-5 weekends when a major number of Europeans travels this route it is highly recommended you book a table in advance. Typical Austrian no-nonsense cuisine, yet with a personal touch of the chef. Do not go for the Wienerschnitzel (though excellent), there are so many tasty traditional (but updated!) Tyrolean dishes you are unlikely to eat during your skiing time on a hotel half-board regimen or in the mountain huts. It is truly worth to take a tasting menu. My personal appreciation of the kitchen after the latest visit remained at 14 on a 0-20 scale. Wine list is hardly extensive or complete, yet the wines offered are well chosen for the cuisine. Service very friendly and attentive. Washrooms nice and well kept. Parking in front of the hotel/restaurant.The bill will not hit you hard, but note that the place is renowned as the best restaurant in the wider Kufstein area, so cheap is not the word to be applied. You might come across a local gentleman wearing a tie, but informal is the rule.
Large portions in this busy hotel location next to station . The food is solid German food and you don't leave hungry . good beer , free parking or come on the train . recommended .

We stayed in hotel Hödner which is across the street and decided to grab a bite here. The place is typically 'Austrian' and would be really cozy if the lights would be less bright. Apart from that, service is good and the menu has both traditional Austrian dishes as 'normal' ones. Prices are reasonable and quality of food is good. Service is very quick, we got our starter within 5 minutes after ordering and the entree was served shortly after. Would come back here!

This place was such a special experience and I will definitely be back. We weren't sure if we should go because it is a bit outside of the main town center, but it was totally worth it. We had been out in the cold hiking all day and this was just the right thing. The restaurant itself is very rustic and authentic. We were able to immediately get a table for two although many tables were either occupied or reserved. I recommend booking in advance because it seemed like we just got lucky. It seemed like a family friendly place and the service was very good, attentive and super friendly. We ordered from their rather straight forward menu of good, home-cooked Austrian comfort food. I had a kind of taster platter with three separate items. They were all out of this world delicious. Such good food. For dessert, we had the Mirabellen Dumplings and they were definitely in the top 5 best desserts I have ever eaten. I can only say Wow when I think of the food. The prices were also very reasonable. The wine menu, while rather small, had some good wines on it. This is my top recommendation for dining

Living on fresh air and love - it's not possible - but you can try out our inimitable restaurant in Kufstein In an informal, laid-back atmosphere we serve not only original creations from Tyrolean and Viennese cuisine, but also steaks, grilled on hot lava
Of course, the steak made of Austrian beef was great too. Staff very friendly and helpful. The decor is traditional and interesting. But the highlight was for sure the desert Kaiserschmarrn. It was unlike any other that weâd tried in Vienna or other parts of the country. It was not as âfluffyâ as a typical pancake that was made with lots of flour. It had a unique egg taste to it which was to die for. A must try and I wish that the chef never changes his/ her recipe!!!

Went here with a group, which was recommended by our hotel. The overall setting has a relaxing feel, which was perfect after a day of skiing. Everyone enjoyed the food that they ordered. I got their appetizer platter which was a good assortment to try. The only issue is that the food did take a long time to get out. We did have a large group, but it didn't help that there was only one waiter for all of us. If I go again, I might try it with a group of 4-6 people versus 20+.Thank you very much for your recommend. It's not always easy to prepare fresh dishes for a bigger group togheter. We are sorry that you were waiting so long. We should have offer a fixed menu for your group.Sorry.

For locals this is somewhere you go for a special occassion. It is more modern than country style ( or modern country? ).Food was delicious and some meals in little untypical variations. a Bit more expensive but worth the price for the qualityDear Natascha! Thanks a lot for your awesome evaluation! We appreciated your visit as well and are happy that you liked our interior.See you soon!Greets from Kufstein

We came on a Friday evening without a reservation and the place was practically full. After 10 minutes we got a table, after another 10 minutes we got the menu. It looked like a busy night at Egger's. We started with Insalata Gambertetti which is a mixed salad with Shrimp. Than we ordered a Pizza Parma with Buffalo Mozzarella, Parma Ham and Rocket Salad with Parmesan flakes. Our entries were Baked Lasagna with Ragout, and Grilled fillet of Sea Bream,Salad and Rosemary Potatoes. The Italian dishes were very good, the fish was less than average. One should learn not to order fish at an Italian restaurant
Nice and friendly personal. Very big and clean app. In restaurant very good and tasty food. WI-FI - superb.
