Visiting Serfaus with our daughterâs family. They skied in, we hiked in. True Bavarian food and very good. It was worth the hike. The goulash soup was very good. A small green salad was big enough to feed two people. The restaurant was very busy with skiers, but the service was prompt and pleasant.

On top of the Lazidbahn you will find one of the 3 restaurants in the mountains of Serfaus - Fiss - Ladis that you have to visit during your vacation. You will love their freshly prepared pizzas and even more the price.TIP: the slopes down from here can be a little challenging for beginner kids, but don't worry. You can take the gondola right down to Komperdell Bahn after dinner.

The Frommes Alm is located at the bottom of the popular Frommes slope. This used to be a nice balance between location, good food and a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately the nice atmosphere is no more. At least not all the time. They now frequently have long periods of loud hardrock of the worst kind. And on the terrace you have 2 different kinds of music played on top of each other. Too bad!

We came across Tiefenthal Alm while hiking in Pitztal. It is a restaurant for hikers, I'm not sure if you can get there by car. We hiked from St. Leonard but there are several routes you can take. When you get to Tiefenthal Alm a beautiful sight greets you. A brook runs down the mountain and where it gets flat is where the restaurant is situated. There the brook divides into several smaller streams and forms a pond in one place. The pond has a sandy beach for kids to play and the whole meadow seems geared towards children. There are also lawn chairs for grown ups. The restaurant is a typical tyrolian wooden house with a patio overlooking the meadow and the mountains framing it. We ate Kaiserschmarrn which was delicious and enough to feed two. The owner started playing his harmonica and everybody was encouraged to join in the singing. They had a booklet with lyrics on every table. It was quite special. They also have a few rooms to stay overnight. If only we still had younger kids we'd go back there next summer and stay the whole day or maybe two.

These spots need to be preserved for future generations. Located at the foot of the Ladis Castle, this restaurant had not seen any changes in decor or ambiance over last 50 odd years. Warm welcome, dated interior that every visitor accepts as being part of the deal and really nice food. Great white wine (Grüne Veltlinger!!).Prices are fair.

The Gebhard restaurant is a welcome variation to the usual Austrian restaurants. The service is excellent. The food is well prepared and served with care. Not the 'usual' food but well balanced tasteful dishes prepared with fresh materials. The menu is somewhat restricted with 2 appetizers and 2 soups and a couple of main dishes. There is more variation in the desserts. They are equally nice. They carry a nice selection of wines with great suggestions to match the food, also for wine by the glass. Cost is 70 to 75 euro per person for 3 courses with drinks. Reservations are needed as the have less capacity when the hotel is full.
During our regular holidays in Kaunertal, we at least once visit Kirchenwirt for a drink after a walk, or diner if we like. A very good traditional Austrian menu and a nice terras in the center of the small village of Feichten. Yesterday they surprised us with some live music in the sun.
Fresh Tyrolean specialities to eat in or take away A healthy appetite is required when we dish up the famous XXL Hallenbad Schnitzel at the Restaurant Quellalpin. The oversized breaded delicacy is well known and loved far beyond the Kaunertal valley by lo
We went in summer 2017 to the swimming pool with the family. The place looks very new, and impeccable. There is also a small bistro. We enjoyed our stay, highly recommend.
