It was our silver wedding anniversary and our youngest daughter paid for us to stay at Crown towers. Crystal club.. This includes afternoon tea and canapés and pre dinner drinks. Our other daughter gave us money for dinner. As we werenât very hungry we decided on Rockpool for some Dufish. It was so lovely walking down their walkway all lit with candles.Well, my husband ( chef by trade ) has just cooked us some Blue Grenadier which cost me $9 for 3 ginormous pieces from Coles and it was hands down 100% better.Rockpools Dufish cost $55 and was so tiny in size it was beyond belief. My piece was thicker than my husbands and so they clearly wanted to make sure it was cooked through and boy was it cooked through....to the point of being so dry it had no taste.I ate it because it cost me $55.I ate it because we had already had a long wait.We arrived to be told there was a wait list. My husband said thatâs ok, we will come back and the girl said no we could not leave, we had to sit at the bar until we were called and it could take up to an hour.Well if thatâs not a way to get us to buy drinks, I donât know what is, they could have phoned us.So we ordered a lime soda as we had already had a few pre dinner drinks. As we sat I looked around the bar area and there was no one else. Hmmmm. When I spoke up and asked about the tables there, the Barman checked and said they donât normally serve food at those tables and then led us to a table in the dining area. Hmmm.Whilst we were waiting, others sat at those tables and ordered food!!We knew our fish would only have a small herb salad but my goodness it was just a few herbs tossed together.Funny thing is they canât do a salad with lettuce and cucumber and tomato, but they can put cucumber in drinks. Iâm shaking my head now.So that was our silver 25th wedding anniversary. Thanks very much Rockpool Iâm pretty sure Luke Perry would not be impressed. To be fair, when they asked how my food was, I was honest and told them my fish was very dry. They then apologised and bought us a plate of sweets ( chocolate, macaron, toffees). But seriously, nothing was taken off our bill ( even though we are sure we had seen it advertised for $49 ) and they knew it was our special night.Thank goodness for the delicious foods from Crown Tower hotel.Suffice to say we will never ever go to Rockpool again.

I recently attended here for the first time for a friends party and was pleasantly surprised. I had never been before and have long seen it standing there since it used to be known as the Red Castle and later when it was known as Empire Bar. The castle used to be a bit of a dive but the Empire bar had certainly fixed that. There is lots of parking available which is surprising as its so close to the casino. It had many areas in which to drink, both inside and out. The beer garden out the back is huge as is the big screen for entertainment. The food was actually extremely good and service was impeccable. I found they also had a good range of beers both craft and lager. The front outdoor area is cool with a bar and fantastic appeal. It trained on the day we were there but it was fantastic. Although we were here on a function I would definitely recommend it to come back for a casual drink with a meal.

To celebrate our friends birthday three of us, former workmates, booked lunch at Rambla on Swan in South Perth. I'd been there for dinner recently and the view of the city across the river during the day was still spectacular. Two of us chose the small fillet steak with cauliflower purée and asparagus and it was perfect. Just the right size for us girls and cooked as requested. Our friend chose the chicken salad with goats cheese and pepitas and he loved every mouthful, The lovely young waitress overheard us mention it was a birthday lunch and surprised us with a yummy cupcake with a sparkler, very special. Thanks Rambla on Swan we had a wonderful experience with you today.

Creative, contemporary, European cuisine in a warm, casual atmosphere. Professional service and inspired food presentation. Comprehensive wine list, cocktails, craft beer and more.
Four of us visited to celebrate a birthday. The decor of the restaurant is intriguing and stylish. It has a great ambience with tables spaced a reasonable distance apart for privacy, It is licensed and parking is not difficult. It is popular, so book ahead. We ordered for entrées: crumbed prawns, salmon tartar and tripe pie. The prawns were well presented and cooked. The tartar was imaginative and tasty. I don't like tripe but my wife seemed to enjoy it.For main course: Beef fillet, Roast Duck and Chicken and Bacon Roulade. All were cooked to perfection and accompanied by potatoes fried in duck fat.Cocktails were A$18 each and bottle of Margaret River Cab Sav was $80. All up the meal for 4 was $376.There are stairs to reach the restaurant so it is not very suited to wheelchairs.

We arrived at 5:30 pm since we used the First Table booking. We enjoyed the excellent food and well priced wine. Delicious oysters and interesting stuffed calamari to start. Surf 'n Turf is totally WA with kangaroo fillet and Fremantle octopus. The service was also excellent - a very pleasant evening experience.

Very busy on a Sunday morning- suggest booking. The coffee was excellent and all our meals were amazing! The Banksai Breakfast was huge. I loved the pancakes- lots of elements to it. My daughter also loved the Corn and kale hot cake. All meals beautifully presented.

My friend and I have a beautiful lunch and a catch up at The Boatshed Restaurant. Food was wonderful and not too expensive. Service was excellent and very attentive. Our only annoyance was that the front door was locked and couldn't get in as whoever was supposed to open up didn't. Can't fault otherwise. The location is spectacular with gorgeous views to the city of Perth.

Locally owned restaurant serving modern Australian cuisine of the highest quality with fresh local produce. Open Wednesday to Sunday, breakfast, lunch and dinner - (closes 3pm Sunday).
A group of 5 of us booked a table on a sultry summerâs night for 7.15pm.The waitress was attentive & took our drinks and then meal order. We waited about an hour for our mains but didnât mind too much as we chatted away. One of the mains had to be redone after the chef mucked up the gluten free part of the order. He was apologetic and the manager said the meal would be âon the houseâ. A nice gesture! Unfortunately the meals were on the small side. My fish, nicely presented, wouldnât have been more than 7cm in both directions with a few delicate vegetables. Not enough to satisfy a main meal. We enquired about desserts and was told that the chocolate fondant was ample for two people. Shortly after the manager arrived to apologise that they had run out & a small taster remained which if we ordered another dessert we could have the fondant for free. On asking for the bill, the manager noticed our group had an entertainment club discount voucher and promptly added the âon the houseâ meal back off the house and on to our account. Poor form given the amateurish experience we had. On a plus side, the meals were tasty and of great quality but not making up for the extremely small serves & errors at the diners expense. I wonât be making the trip down the freeway again and as one of our party said we could have gone to Cocos, paid the same amount and got a lovely view into the bargain. Sorry Fresch it wasnât your night!
