Things to do in Northam
I was disappointed that they did not make coffees, but I selected a sausage roll and a pre-made cheese and salad roll. My salad roll was made with fresh ingredients and was well filled. The sausage roll was a revelation and must have been one the best I have had.
Lume is an architect's delight with minimalistic lines of interior. We at Lume create global cuisine using only local produce to serve both European & Indian cuisine at fair price.
To have a comfortable dedicated breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant in town has been refreshing. Been to Lume three times with family and friends. Whilst curry is the specialty of the chef, the wide ranging menu is a draw card whatever your taste. The decor is modern 'Melbournesque' with a well stocked integrated bar, allowing it to project an up market barista cafe style in the day and transform to a sophisticated restaurant at night. As with all new establishments there have been customer service problems but customers are listened to ... and management is keen to get it right (another refreshing aspect) ... so I expect such minor shortfalls will be addressed. Worth a try whether you are local or passing through ... and certainly worth going back. For me the curries are awesome! However, the wider contempory menu provides broader appeal, making 'Lume' a great addition to Northam.
Thankfully I had to go to the post office. It was as I left there that i noricec this fish and chip shop. It was busy with people eating inside and outside. People waiting for their orders etc. I spotted the squid rings draining, leaving a fluffy light batter. My order was fish, minimum chips and 3 squid rings. It was the best fish and chip meal ive had for a long time.
The Dukes Inn has something to suit everyone's tastes and needs. Offering the highest quality cuisine, comfortable surrounds and a unique ambience that you would struggle to find anywhere else within the Avon Valley region.
Northamâs best restaurant! Quality menu and a flavoursome variety. Staff are fabulous customer service operators- the food comes out presented beautifully and tastes amazing. The dukes specials are also regularly changing. Very lucky to have one fabulous restaurant in town.

The Tavern is near Northam and York in WA. It has seating inside in the bar area and outside in a garden setting. There is a play area outside for children. It is a popular pub for travellers and motor bike riders on a day trip from Perth.
We stopped here for lunch not knowing what to expect. Well, we loved it. A beautiful setting out in the garden. Chooks, ducks and geese wandering around the garden. The food was fantastic with an amazing choice especially on the specials board. The teens loved their burgers and steak sanger while my love and I shared the seafood platter with a couple of glasses of the house SSB. Being less than an hours drive from Perth, I believe it is a must do to visit here for lunch.

Awesome Friday night venue. Great vibe and lovely staff.Meals .... the meat is always great - but the side salad...... it needs like cutting up and dressing, always looks like itâs about to be given to a rabbit. Chef please try the over sized plain salad itâs shocking.

Cafe/Restaurant which is BYO and open for breakfast daily from 7:30am. Also Note change of opening times.
Had a champagne breakkie here after a balloon ride. Love the homemade scones with fresh local cream and jam followed by the cooked breakfast. We even went back for a coffee before the drive back to Perth. Great seats outside next to river. Staff friendly and efficient.

I regard myself as a bit of a foodie so I'm constantly on the lookout for interesting menu choices that are tasty, reasonably priced and are provided in pleasant surroundings. For this reason I say Café Yasou are the best in town because the competition falls very short of the mark. Once I would've chosen The Duke's Inn because it provided better than standard pub fare but since it changed ownership a year ago the quality has dropped, the atmosphere isn't as friendly but the hefty price tag remains. The River's Edge Café has a nice location overlooking the Avon River but they're struggling to maintain a menu that really satisfies. The Dome is taking years to be refurbished. No sign of completion yet. The other pubs that remain open and offer meals have a basic suburban feel about them which may suit the drinkers at the bar.Inside the Northam Boulevard is a café which has decent meals but that shopping centre atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. I can't stand that shopping trolley ambience. Lucy's has home made fare but again there is no atmosphere but cheap nasty cafeteria furnishings. The only place where there is a fairly decent sunny outlook and above average food is Café Yasou. They try to make the menu interesting and the prices are okay. Don't expect a gourmet meal. It just happens to be better than the rest.Other food places are more catered for take-away so if you want to visit Northam and enjoy a decent nosh-up, you'd be hard-pressed to do any better than this one located at the main entrance to Northam Boulevard.

A group of 8 (4 couples) stayed here for 2 nights. Accommodation was in donga's out the back and though not the Ritz they were comfortable, enough room and the shower was hot and with good pressure. as said not the Ritz but also not paying $300 per night. for the price of $100 per couple we were more than happy and we only slept there not holding a party in the room. The bed was comfortable with clean linen and was serviced. The food in the hotel was plentiful, I thought the price a little toward the high side but was certainly on a par with other hotels in Northam and they were very generous. The staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us to make our stay comfortable. The only complaint we had was that for breakfast (continental) they ran out of bread but other than that we would certainly stay here again.
