Counting House was originally a 1912 State Saving Bank building. Now a full-service restaurant offering Lunch and Dinner specialising in Modern Australian dishes. There is also a bar which offers local or imported wine and beer. If you prefer to dine outs
there have been many restaurant attempts to get the well located historic counting house. At last there is a reasonably good one that will hopefully last. It is proving quite popular and we could only get a table in the bar with the main restaurant booked out and with rainy weather the otherwise desirable outside areas were not available. The food was all very good though not amazing with exception of the pork ribs which were fatty. The menu is not huge, but managers to cover quite a range of diverse dinners so most people should find a good meal.Thank you for sharing your dining experience! We work really hard to offer all the customers the best food and services. We appreciate your feedback and hope you'll come and see us again soon!Kind regards,The Team from Counting House

We work with local businesses to source the highest quality sustainable produce. Our burgers are made with 100% grass fed Angus beef pressed in house.
Good CompanyBrew & BBQ was amazing. The staff were so frindly and welcoming. Food was delicious, great portion sizes. Mixed menu, with loads of choice. Fantastic prices. Casual, relaxed atmosphere. I tried a couple of the tapped brews which were great. Highly reccomend. Cant wait to ho back.

We shared pork ribs as a starter and they were sensational. My steak was cooked perfectly but my wife's was overcooked. We received incorrect wine orders and it took 3 attempts before the staff acknowledged that our wine orders were mixedThe staff were courteous but not overly experienced. The setting was comfortable and reasonably pleasant I would go back for the pork ribs if nothing else

Our monthly lunch, always a lovely catch up, the Grand never disappoints.Very accommodating to our three elderly Dad's and their walking frames and wheelchair.Great table service making it so much more enjoyable. Our meals were delicious, their senior's meals are incredibly generous in size. The customer service was excellent. Parking out the front of the hotel, in Main Street, is virtually nonexistent. However ample parking is at the rear, you just have to push wheelchairs up the side alley, this is the only access for the elderly, or wheelchair access. A member of staff told me the hotel will soon have a lift installed very soon. Brilliant news!Hi Denise,Thanks for the review, I'm so glad you and your family enjoy your visits to the Grand. We too are excited for the lift, just a few more hurdles and it should be all systems go.Kind regards Nicky W

Came for breakfast with a friend, was nice and quick service, but just be warned there is a credit card surcharge and ALSO a surcharge for dining on a Sunday... I donât mind paying a public holiday surcharge but for a regular Sunday it makes me think the owners are a bit money hungry.

After going to this great little bar for a few years we decided to try it again after a recent change of ownership. What a difference an owner makes! The new vibe was decidedly unfriendly and when the wrong order was presented to us we were rudely told that we had made a mistake. The person whom I presume was the new owner was very unpleasant, couldn't get out of there fast enough and definitely wont be going back.

Just went in to order a latte at counter. The barista so impatient like i was interrupting her day. She was not friendly, happy or welcoming at all. The young man out on the floor however was attentive, and the interior is pretty and quirky. Coffee was weak and only luke warm. The worst coffee Ive had in Mornington and ive now tried 5 cafes in Mornington and this one was the worst.I Wont be back.Hey Corinne,Thanks for taking the time to visit and leave your comments. I'm sorry to read you didn't have the best experience, we've always been very consistent with our coffee and always hope to produce a great product.I'd like to let you know we've changed our coffee beans since your visit too and would love to have you back to try. Feel free to ask for one of the managers if you're in the area again so we can speak about your experience.

I received a birthday dinner offer from The Winey Cow recently. Usually we have breakfast or brunch and the food is lovely. This is the first time we had dinner there. A small selection on menu, more like a casual light dinner menu... they have small and large plates... just an idea they have a beautiful scotch fillet steak with delicious mushrooms and polenta chips (which we both had and loved), Japanese wonton style ramen soup... etc.. we also had their soft shelled crab and slaw bao with spicy French fries, a special dish for last night. We shared that followed by a steak each and ordered a Balinese salad to share. The staff are very friend and helpful. Nice ambience in the cafe... and also fully licensed. We will definitely go back there for dinner...

Tucked away nicely at the back of Empire St Mall just off the main Mornington drag is this amazing café find. Includes a serious library of mostly cook-books. Genuinely friendly and helpful service, creative menu, coffees delivered before you can blink, great ambience and a very pleasant location â what more could you want? Oh, and convenient carparking â right next to a council carpark. Thereâs plenty of feed places in Mornington â and we have tried most of them over the years. This one takes the cake â and even gives it to you with your coffee. A very pleasant experience. You can do a lot worse than this.

This 2 story cafe / restaurant is a hive of activity. The staff are genuinely attentive and quick to serve. They check in regularly and having the beverages station in the middle, means it adds a bit of excitement to your visit. Being able to see into the kitchen and watch the chefs - bless - working really hard and fast makes you appreciate the work that goes into the dishes served. The portions are very generous and expect the add-ons to be generous too. The teas and coffee were a high standard. The breakfast corn fritters came in a large portion and the relish accompanying them was yum! Well worth a visit and then a wander down to the beach after. There is also a great public library close by too. Thanks so much for leaving this great review. We really appreciate you taking the time to write this. We pride ourselves on great customer service and strive to make a comfortable atmosphere for our guests. We hope to see you again soon,John and Team Boyz.
