I haven't reviewed any other restaurants on this trip, but this one is special. It is a non air conditioned beach shack (and I still haven't figured out why it's described as Mexican.) We stopped for lunch on our way up north and had amazing burgers and sweet potato fries served with a smile. The food was so good we went 30 miles out of our way on the trip south and again it was outstanding. Both times there were locals who obviously know where to get a delicious, reasonably priced meal.

I have been a couple if times. You can sit on the couches outside and soak up the breezes and the view. The potato cakes are delicious. So too are the dismiss. It is never crowded.

very disappointed with the service the wait was almost an hour for our mains however the entree was pretty quick, and food overall was very average. Our kids didnât even like their meal and we left majority of our main meals. Considering this was a birthday celebration added to the disappointment. The staff were not very interested or apologetic. Save your money and dine elsewhere a huge waste of money.

Castaways wins hands down for the best views for breakfast in Mission Beach. There is a continental buffet for guests and walk-ins can order from a menu including smashed avocado, prawn and egg hollandaise and the standard big breakfast. The latter had delicious mushrooms, a rosti made in house and a beautiful pork sausage. Loved the sourdough toast. The venue itself is beautifully presented and it is great to see the resort is clearly investing in and maintaining the structure. Overall, you can get nicer food but not a better setting for breakfast.

We were staying in Mission for a few days and visited the Tavern for an evening meal on a Monday night. There were about a dozen other diners that night and the bar area was reasonably busy. We found it had been extended and modernised since our last visit. There is a good range of above average pub style food and the servings are generous. The prices are good and overall we enjoyed our visit to the Tavern. We also found the managers to be friendly and welcoming. The free wifi service is about the best in Mission Beach.Thank you for your kind review and Thank you for visiting with us here at The Tavern. The garage is a small outdoor venue that has a delicious food menu with house made bread, sauces etc and a yummy wine and cocktail menu. We also have a selection of icy cold craft beers on tap. We are open Wednesday to Sunday from 4pm

Were staying near by & heard the live music,so we decided to wander down & have a look.Were really looking for a quiet night in doors,as this was our first night.Decided on a take-away pizza.Ordered the'Smokey Bourbon Chicken Pizza'.Ordered a drink while we waited for our pizza.Pizza soon arrived out & we went back to hut to eat.Pizza was great,with plenty of filling,with a really nice smokey flavour.Service was quick,price was reasonable & atmosphere seemed pretty good as we had our drink.

We were staying in Mission Beach and this cafe was recommended to us. We had Flat Whites and a piece of Banana & Walnut loaf. Coffees excellent, hot and a good strength. The loaf was delicious and disappeared in no time.The breakfasts that were coming out of the kitchen looked delicious.Very attentive staff, quite a quirky cafe but in a good way.Recommended.

Peppervine is a delightful restaurant at the heart of Mission Beach. With its location close to the beach, one enjoys their meal whilst listening to the soft crashes of waves. And this was certainly the experience whilst enjoying fettucine fungi.This dish features the sophisticated fusion of exotic mushrooms with the more familiar pasta. The chef accentuates the delicate & subtle flavour of mushroom with truffle oil. The use of exotic mushrooms give an exciting texture, quite different to the usual and more familiar mushrooms. The crunchy and curly black fungi add texture and shape alongside the softer, finer enoki mushrooms; subtle flavour of truffle oil and the al dente fettucine. Gentle touches of spice from chilli and sweetness from red capsicum adds variety to the flavour and colour of the dish. Fine, broad slices of parmesan also adds shape and flavour, but its addition is tactful - it does not overwhelm the star of the show, the mushrooms. Topped with crunchy sprouts (which adds crunchiness, colour and accentuates the clean flavours), this dish is a delightful yet precise fusion of East and West.A return to the menu will be met with great anticipation!

Dropped by here for Saturday lunch. We were very impressed by laid back nature of the place. Chairs, tables with umbrellas out on the grass. The view is amazing. The food was excellent. I had the house sav blanc with lunch and it was very pleasant. Lovely chatty owners that we met. All, in all, an ideal lunch!Thanks Megan & Drew glad you took the opportunity to ride the bikes down and have lunch with us, lovely to meet you both and to satisfy your hungers too
