stopped for a devonshire tea (was obviously not the place recommended by my friend), scones were chewy pale white bricks, served with cheap jam and that horrid fake canned cream, both tea cups needed a good clean (one was chipped) and the cheap tea was horrid, the kids were surprized at the large lolly range (so much cheaper at the grocery store next door), didn't try the 'famous fudge' as thought it might be made in the same home as the terrible scones.

Walking into this shop is like walking back in time, it reminds me of old country stores from the turn of the 19th Century. Travelling around Oz, very few of these wooden establishments still exist, so its a history lesson for the kids. That said the only reason to stop here is to buy pies, which are dispensed with a smile. As everyone else has said, they are served piping hot so sit outside, enjoy the view and take a while to enjoy, lest the roof of your mouth peels off the next day!!
The meals were lovely, well portioned and presented very nicely. Great meal. Excellent service, wait staff are attentive, food wait time was good - meals came out perfectly timed. Venue is lovely inside, decorated with fairy lights and it has a nice ambiance :) the only fault is the lack of signage, as we were really confused where it was, but eventually worked it out. Hello Emily W,Thank you for taking the time to review the Woolshed Restaurant, it's much appreciated. It's wonderful to read that you've given us five out of five. The staff are working really hard to ensure that everyone leaves the establishment with a positive experience and a full belly! Your suggestion on the lack of signage is duly noted, and this is something we're working hard to fix and make it an easy experience for our guests to find. Emily, thank you again and I hope we can welcome you back very soon, we look forward to providing you with another memorable experience with us.

Enjoyed a number of pies during our visit to the valley, this I would list as one of the best, plus the staff were very pleasant and service quick. Mandy C

Wow what a find, a large family group headed to Maddisonâs for a pre wedding brunch and we all really enjoyed our meals.Situated on the Main Street in the old bank building, the cafe has real rustic charm. Our meals were all large serves and well priced the egg and bacon rolls were full of lovely moist bacon, the eggs Benedict simply delicious as was the big breakfast. The coffee was of a high quality and the juices and milkshakes were top notch. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, we would all highly recommend for a relaxed and delicious brunch.

Brunch-goers needn't despair- The General cafe has a ever-changing menu of seasonal, local and organic eats and the best brew in town. Sit out on the back veranda, snuggle up inside and enjoy a chefs omelette with toasted hazelnuts or the chefs wife stone
This is just a review for the poor service from the âhangryâ middle aged waitress. We arrived with people ordering from the counter so we walked through to sit down assuming that was the normal protocol given a number of spare tables and were stopped by the waitress while she decided to seat others before us even though we were there first. Then I went to use the bathroom and realized there was no paper so requested from the same waitress at which point she asked do you know what hangry is as she is apparently hungry and angry. If this is the case deal with that rather than serving customers. Poor service and unfortunate very limited food options which didnât suit my husband given food allergies so we decided to leave at which point the same waitress started being aggressive towards us for trying to leave. Seriously get out of customer service roles as you are giving the place poor ratings.
