Things to do in Hamilton
Pitstop..... the perfect name for when your tonguing for something to eat.Situated on a side road in a ideal location with plenty of parking.Very clean looking premises with a wide array of cakes, salads, fruit salads, the usual fried food standards, pies and sausage rolls , and burgers and even hot spuds !!I enjoyed a very tasty burger and quite good coffee while looking at the Car posters on the walls. Good seating arrangement so your not sardined in.Staff were great on service , but a bit tense towards each other ( I got a vibe ).

Group of 12 booked in for dinner. Only gave 30 mins notice. We arrived and the table was ready and very close to the fire. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and the meals were nice and quick.

This place tries hard...The building is lovely, most of the staff are charming, but, oh dear, the food is very ordinary. However, it is also extremely well priced, so maybe I'm being too harsh. It seems to attract quite an elderly group of people - my husband and I are in our mid 60's, and we felt young!!! I have ordered a scotch fillet steak and ended up bringing it home for my dog! I was only able to eat a small amount of it because of fat and gristle. The dog loved it though! My partner ordered a baked chicken dish that he said tasted ok - but was very dry and over cooked. The bar staff unfortunately showed little interest in their job and the young woman serving at table gave the impression that she'd rather be anywhere other than there! As I said, it's a lovely building in a great location - opposite the sports ground and a short walk into the heart of Hamilton, but the place lacks atmosphere. Everything is quite dark and getting around from one space to another is awkward...having to negotiate your way around billiard tables and other obstacles to get in or out of the dining room is a nuisance - add that to the overall gloominess of the place and it's an accident waiting to happen with those elderly folk around! We've been there three times now - just to make sure that we haven't just hit on the 'wrong' day or a day when the normal chef/cook is having time off, but unfortunately we won't be going back to eat. It may be a relatively inexpensive food experience - but if you can't enjoy it, or worse - can't eat it, then why go though it again?

Our small group shared pizzas and found them to be very nice. A bit light on with toppings however very tasty and the base was great.Thought the drinks pricing was very reasonable. Pretty hard to find Corona's anywhere $7 or under.Lots of different seating locations inside and out. Very friendly staff. Nice ambiance. Handy CBD location. Good value overall.

Our family visited Hamilton- we had a great time, we even got to see Santa & his elf helper down the main street. The best place we got to visit as well was Kings Bakery - Yummo! 10 out of 10. The hazelnut slice is the best as well.:)

Blue Malt is located in the heart of Hamilton within walking distance of accommodation, retail outlets and recreation facilities. Blue Malt is a fully licensed 70 seat restaurant offering breakfast and lunch 6 days a week and dinner 4 nights a week. Also
Saturday night on a holiday weekend in Hamilton and where to eat. Looked in Trip Advisor and selected two or three properties based on reviews. Drove down to the CBD area to seek the restaurants. The streets were lacking car parks and a couple of restaurants looked full. After looking decided on Blue Malt. Found a nearby park and went in. Greeted in a friendly way and was shown to a table for two and given menus. The menu was varied and had some interesting dishes. For moi was herb crusted pork cutlet served with pear, walnut and rocket salad, with a charcoal grilled lemon and sweet potato rosti and for partner chicken noodle stir fry. And lemon, lime and bitters for drinks with garlic bread for entree. As usual, the drinks arrived first and was a lot stronger than what we normally have experienced â it was still a good variation,. The garlic bread arrived, with four pieces, toasted on the bottoms and probably lightly grilled on top for the garlic butter to melt. There was a very slight flavour of garlic in the butter. It was more like buttered toasted bread. I like garlic bread to taste of garlic â after all thatâs why I order it!The mains took a while to be served and in the meantime I had ordered a Gapasted Moscato. This was not as sweet as most moscatos but had the fruitiness and was most delightful. The first thing I noted about my mains was that it was very presented but there no crusting on the pork just a few scattered herb pieces! So I squeezed the hot charcoal grilled lemon over the pork and proceeded to eat. The pork was tender and the taste of lemon highlighted the flavour. The Rosti was different but enjoyable and complimented the dish as a whole. The salad was fresh and the flavours of pear, walnut and rocket all worked together well. The chicken noodle stir fry was full of flavour and good, although what juice I had not used from the charcoaled grilled lemon was added to the stirfry giving and additional flavour burst. We passed on coffee and dessert. Maybe next time! From the moment we entered to the moment we left, I could not fault the service nor the interactions of the mainly male staff on this shift.Return? Yes! Blue Malt would be added to my itinerary when visiting Hamilton as Blue Malt has promise and need to pay attention to the details in what they offer.

Contemporary cafe in country Victoria. Quality coffee, homemade cakes and a range of menu items to suit everyone's wants and needs.
One flat white had to be followed by another. Excellent coffee. A good breakfast range. I went basic. Scrambled eggs on Hopkins River Sourdough. Lovely.

Although the restaurant was fully booked the hostess found me a seat sharing a small bar table with another single diner. As it turned out a table became vacant so we were offered the table and were able to continue chatting to a fellow traveler. My cauliflower felafel and salad was absolutely delicious. The 'salad' was composed of grain, maybe couscous, rocket, fresh herbs and cashews.Yum. I'd love the recipe.Washed down with a crisp glass of Pierrepoint Pinot Gris, I couldn't have been happier. My new friend enjoyed her sumptuous looking paparadelle with roast salmon and prawns. It was the perfect antidote to a cold, windy evening.Compliments to the chef and friendly team.I'll definitely be returning with family and friends
