Had lunch here again, and burgers were excellent like the last time. Noticed Amble Inn has previously won an award for their burgers, which is proudly displayed on the wall, and they never disappoint. Customer service was brilliant as per usual. Place was very busy but orders were taken and food ready very quickly.Just a word of warning to any disabled people that may visit-the toilet is out the back and up some stairs and then up a slight slope. It is very clean though.

We had bacon eggs and tomatoes $18. Not very good. Dried out bacon, tiny tomatoes but plenty of tomato sauce, overall not good at all. Definitely matched the tired old decor. The lady serving seemed nice but I don't think we will go back.

Don't know what has happened here since the last time we visited but nearly fell off my chair when I saw the new price and size of a child's soft drink ! $4 for a TINY 'handle less mug' of soft drink is absurd (the restaurant sells the mug for $18 as a souvenir item in their 'shop' part). 3 or 4 sips and it was gone, wouldn't have even been half a can of soft drink. No refill, no remainder of can left on table like the last visit, just ridiculous.Service has improved 100% with the addition of extra staff, wait time has improved 100%, lighting has improved 100%, meals were delicious etc but I really can't see how the owners can justify effectively charging children $4 for a few sips of soft drink.Really disappointed that the cost of improvements seem to have been passed on to the cost of children's drinks. Thanks for your feedback. We are glad you had enjoyed everything else apart from the soft drinks. The size and price of soft drinks has not changed, and it is the same for children and adults. We dont think that $4 for a standard sized glass of soft drink is unreasonable.

We stayed in the hotel on our way back to Devonport. After dining in Hobart and at Freycinet Lodge, I didn't expect the best meal of our trip to be in a small country town, but it was definitely the standout for our family. Pork belly entree just about melted in the mouth, and I had an amazing lamb shank in an orange glaze on sweet potato mash. The restaurant decor is also gorgeous, and service was greatThank you for an amazing review rachaelOz. Wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your meals so much at the Hotel, we pride ourselves on using fresh locally sourced produce. Hope to see you again on your next Tassie adventure.

Having dined at Villarett Gardens numbers off times over the years, I can say I have never been disappointed. The food is beautifully cooked & attractively presented. Serving sizes are generous. Staff are welcoming and friendly making for a relaxing atmosphere. A walk through the gardens is always enjoyable. Thank you Villarett Gardens.

We had breakfast there with a large group, the staff were out of their depth even though they knew we were coming and had a limited menu for us to chose from. I am sure families and couples would be well catered for, but our experience was not good.

Popped in for dinner on a Thursday night. Dining room was pretty empty. Ordered a couple of Parmaâs which arrived by themselves. They must have been from bantams as they were very small. You had to serve yourself chips and veggies from the bay Marie. Salad didnât appear to be an option. The red velvet pudding was very nice and the highlight of the meal. Although the Parma was small it was very succulent and tasty.

Cycles @ The Empire restaurant offers a modern Australian essence, changed seasonally to reflect the best use of local produce sourced from some of Tasmania's finest producers.
We were staying in Deloraine and opted for a meal at this very obviously popular Pub.We managed to get a last minute table inside as all outside were taken. The service to our Table was very friendly. The meals we enjoyed Fish and Chips and a homemade Spaghetti dish were first class and plenty on the plate! Very good quality washed down by a local Railton beer and a Tassie Pear cider couldn't get any better! The only slightly disappointing aspect was the attitude of the young waitress. Maybe it was an off night for her but she was plainly disinterested and devoid of any sense of service! We highly recommend this place !

We had the special dish for $24 an asparagus , spinach & gruyere tart. It came out rubbery with a microwave reheat . Served with small salad , it was disappointing , as a dish, let alone at that price. I had a moroccan pie , it was ok , but did not have any preserved lemon or fresh mint in it , just a heavy cumin based flavour that dominated everything. The pastry was not the best , the base was almost raw. The salad not tossed in a nice homemade dressing , rather a commercial acidic and awful dressing splattered over the top . The seperate order of chips were very salty , thing is and owners should note , It is ok to charge high prices , i do not care what a dish costs at all , what I do care about is if it is value for money . Charge your hefty prices if you need to , now improve your products. Service was friendly and efficient let down by a very ordinary cook . Thank you very much for taking the time to give such detailed and specific feedback. We have taken the time to review the specific items mentioned as well as+ our quality control procedures and staff training. This is a reality check for us and we appreciate your frankness. We aim to provide a quality experience every time. Very sorry we didn't deliver.
