Being in Clunes for a special occasion (my birthday), it was time to enjoy the delights of Quigley and Clarke! We started with scallops (delicious) then I had the vegetable tagine and my partner the tuna (both excellent) followed by fruit crumble (yum). All the meal accompanied by Mad Maggie's Brut. Though the menu changes regularly, you can choose anything on the menu and be sure of a delightful, tasty offering. On a chilly evening this is the place to be, with a fire and upbeat atmosphere. Clunes is fortunate indeed to have Quigley and Clarke!

Please note that for the first Clunes, Victoria restaurant listing that I recently requested (O'Hara's@Clunes), TA staff incorrectly located it in the Australian state of New South Wales (NSW) when in fact both O'Hara's and the cafe above are in then hist
This is both a café, coffee shop and an old lolly store. We did not dine here but the fresh sweets looked divine. We spent some time in the old lolly shop and our group purchased a few items.

Wait staff rude and didn't care. unfriendly. didn't even know what the house wine was and couldn't be bothered finding out, would only sat it was local. Given there are plenty of wineries in the region it could have been anything. Food was very average which I suspect had been frozen then reheated. The beef burgers were raw in the middle. Fish had very little flavour. It used to be good a few years ago. Now it's on the a never to return to list unless it changes hands. There are 2 other cafes in town that are far better.

What could be nicer?A leisurely drive through the countryside on quiet country roads. A visit to one of Victoria's fine goldfields era towns. A satisfying meal at the local pub.Nothing fllash,, but who cares about that? My wife enjoyed grilled fish, chips and salad, while i settled for a Pizza Supreme. Lovely fresh ingredients in both dishes. Being a chilli fiend, I should have asked for a bottle of Tabasco to add more kick to the dish, but it was good pub food at a reasonable price.Thoroughly recommend these dishes and some other offerings on the menu also looked promising. Don't expect historic decor, but there's plenty of that up and down the street in this quaint little town when you've finished enjoying your meal.

For a very reasonable price we ate like kings at this quaint mud brick restaurant on the banks of The Goldfields Reservoir in Maryborough. I had absolutely delicious barramundi , smashed potatoes and salad for only $17 and my daughter had chicken Caesar salad for $17.50. The service was delightful and there was a steady turnover of customers as the day progressed. Outside there is a shade cloth area with seating available. A few couples sat outside with their pets enjoying a coffee. A very pleasant breeze off the lake wafted through the windows. Unique venue.
