The Cellar Door in Berrima is home to our Tasting Room in an iconic building that once was established by the late Carina Cox as a flourishing retail shop that sold antiques and old wares. While keeping the heart and soul of the original building intact,
My husband and I plus another couple had an amazing lunch here today, the food was fantastic, started with a Ploughman's board to start between 4 (quite ample) plus Salt & Pepper Prawns and Twice Baked Gruyere Souffle for mains, all beautiful! The restaurant itself has been beautifully renovated and is very comfortable and not noisy. Staff were excellent (especially our waitress, Brenda)! We didn't feel rushed at all, all in all a lovely experience which we will definitely do again!

What a great find!We went to two places before the General Store only to be turned away at one and not served at another. We walked into general store and instantly greeted by delightful staff.Sat down to look at the menu and specials. So many great options to choose. We ended up with the burger and Croque Madame. The burger was great and juicy! The croque madame exceeded all expectations! We will return next time we are in town!Highly, highly recommended! So grateful for the delicious food and enjoyable experience.

Hard to know how to rate this - 4 for the full pub experience, but 3 perhaps for quality of food.We have been to the Bistro inside the historical Surveyor General Inn several times over the years, and twice this week. The service - in the bistro and the bar is friendly and efficient, and the spaces comfortable of the type of establishment it is.The food is good though on the first night my duck was a little dry, and on the second night a pretty large number of menu items were not available. It was nice, though, to see some food items different from the usual pub fare.

Had booked for lunch here with my husband after reading the wonderful reviews. We werenât disappointed, as our meals were delicious. The seafood pasta was so tasty and my husband had the risotto, which he wiped out! We also had a yummy dessert. Will definitely pass by again if we find ourselves in the southern highlands.

A family friendly cafe in beautiful Berrima that serves great coffee and food. Large seating area allows us to cater for big groups. Catering and take away service also available.
We decided to try this cafe, so glad we did...now under new ownership. New owners amazing super friendly, great service, excellent food. They brought our dog a bowl of clean water and a bowl with a dog biscuit, homemade by their daughter. The Apple cider was refreshing and the Ploughmans very nice with little relishes ,followed by scones. We loved it so much we came back the next day and again out came the bone for the dog. They loved her. We had the Ruben sandwich which was superb. We brought some biscuit bones to bring home with us. Already missing this cafe. Will have to visit again.

Dine inside next to the fire with a divine backdrop of revered books or enjoy an alfresco meal surrounded by the Estateâs heavenly gardens and vineyard. Savour flavoursome cuisine inspired by the seasons of the Southern Highlands. *Please note that due to
We stopped in to Bendooley for lunch on our day on the grapes and couldn't recommend it more. Highlights were the rigatoni with chicken liver and linguine with spanner crab. Really, really well executed pasta dishes - well thought-out, well-balanced, and well presented. Do book though as they get busy.

This is so reminiscent of driving through regional France, choosing a local restaurant on speck and finding an absolute gem.Matthew and his crew are clearly devoted to the values of fine dining in this gorgeous old coach house in the quintessential Southern Highlands village of Berrima. Combining bundles of local produce with the finesse of a Parisian chef this is fine dining at its finest. The meal commenced with a complementary amuse bouche of potato and leek soup and perfectly rendered bread with truffle infused butter. The grilled lamb rump with pistachio and celeriac was simply devine - tender and perfectly cooked. My wagyu fillet with eggplant crisps, whipped potato, hazelnut and chimichurri was superbly cooked and wonderfully tender. Our mains were also beautifully presented on the plate as works of art, exhibiting the care, pride and attention to detail of a chef in his prime.Service was completely satisfactory as was the wine list. But itâs the food that stars in this excellent restaurant. Worth every cent.

Fully Licenced Thursday BYO wine only BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL
The food and service is excellent. The dishes offered are quiet unusual and very flavoursome. The serving sizes were very good. I certainly will be coming back to try other dishes. The costs were very reasonable. As we were there for lunch on a Sunday i was surprised at how full the restaurant was by 12.30 pm. Luckily we arrived at 12 to make sure we got a table.
