After reading the reviews my wife and I stopped here for lunch on our way to the Riverland. Yummy food and great service didn't disappoint!

Situated in the heart of South Australiaâs Riverland, next to the Murray River, Banrock Station brings together wine, food and nature in one location. Take in the views as you taste some of our award winning local wines at our cellar door, relax on the de
Visit was to walk around the wetlands. You need to sign in before you start & will be given a walky-talky. There's no phone reception on the far side of the walk. Staff were very helpful even offering sunblock & aeroguard. I decided to do the long walk (8kms) as a solo walker. Suggested time is 3 hours. The walk is flat and easy going but you still need good shoes. It's a clear track with no need to guess which way to go. The information stands were interesting giving the history of the area & the measures they're taking in keeping the wetlands healthy. It's great to read that several schools have been helping with trees for planting. Unfortunately the wetlands were dry so there were few wetland birds around. So I didn't linger at the viewing huts. But there were a few kangaroos. I just plodded & really enjoyed the walk. But without stopping at the viewing points, the walk was completed in 1hr 40 mins. Afterwards I decided & had earned some wine tasting time. Lovely wines. Bought a bottle to have later that day with dinner. I'd love to come back to see the wetlands with water and wildlife. And maybe stay for lunch next time.

Beginning in 2008, Bella Lavender Estate with its 3500 plants of lavender is set on 5 acres of land amongst a backdrop of vineyards and olive trees. As you turn off the bitumen road onto the property and drive between the rows of grape vines towards the c
This place was recommended to me by a local. I called in for a late lunch & it was absolutely charming. As it was a little cool on the day, I sat inside by a window with views across a garden to the wooden playground & mini golf. Entre and wine was served quickly. This space was so enjoyable I stayed longer reading my book & enjoying their home grown wine. If I lived closer, I'd be a regular. I returned later that day for a take away pizza. They also sell homemade cottage products like handcrafts & lavender products.

After reading the reviews we were a bit apprehensive, however, the bacon and eggs or big breakfast were fine! However, at 9:00am on Tuesday we were the only ones in the cafe. This was a little worrying but the meals were great. The atmosphere was almost non-existent and the girls were not overly warm. The floors looked like they might have needed a steam clean ... but, maybe, that was just the style.

A casual cafe with some homely indoor seating and outdoor seating tables with bench seats. A lovely spot that offers light meals including fish n chips. We had refreshments and a selection of sandwiches. Very fresh and tasty and not too pricey. Would have had breakfast there Sunday mornign but they open 11.30am so a bit late for an early riser. Friendly and accommodating staff. Will return next visit.
Flavours of the Riverland is a casual eating space at Barmera. It has quirky furniture & decorations and markets regional produce and sells âcoffee & cakeâ & light lunches. Sometimes (weekends) it has fresh bread. We had delicious coffee & pie. Service was chatty and friendly. Around the interior cafe were items for sale & some visual displays of historic local industry ie apricot harvest, grape harvesting. Certainly they brought back memories of teenage casual work in the hot Riverland sun!Outside there was seating aplenty; it was July so the old wisteria was just bare twigs but must be magnificent in season, it was a great discussion point re an alternate use for a hills hoist! Plenty of parking, easy access. Weâll be back tomorrow to pick up some âbackyard breadâ, at least!

The Barmera Club overlooks the picturesque Lake Bonney in Barmera and offers magical sunset views of an evening. It's newly renovated dining room & alfresco area is fresh and sophisticated. It's fully licensed with a friendly atmosphere and serves quality
I really enjoyed my Porterhouse steak. It was tender, had a delicious seasoning and was cooked well with char grid lines. The flavoursome creamy sauce had three prawns. Six would be a nice even number. There were chilled salads available, which were simple and fresh. A few extra condiments like Riverland olives would be a nice touch. I went for seconds of the rockmelon and watermelon. Nice fresh bread.Service was very friendly and welcoming. Had a pleasant evening.Recommended. We're happy to hear you enjoyed your steak and our welcoming & friendly service. We'll be sure to pass your comments onto our Chefs. We really appreciate your review and recommendation.

We ate out with friends while visiting Barmera. The dining room is quite spacious and tables are well separated. The menu offers all the usual. Our meals were well cooked and arrived in a timely fashion. A good selection of wines is available at very reasonable prices. Staff were friendly and efficient. All in all a very pleasant experience.
