West Lafayette is directly across the Wabash River from its sister city, Lafayette. As of the 2016 census estimate, its population was 45,872. We came here for Sushi, and thought it was assured since the outside window lists it as available. But alas, they have done away with their sushi menu... We ended up having shrimp tempura, bibimbap and chicken dolsot, which were all authentic, spicy and very good. Nice server too.

I've never had a more tasteless pho. Every one i could see was filling it full of hoison sauce. if i had waned hoison soup i would have ordered hoison soup. The chicken curry was equally bland. The goi cuon roll full of frozen thawing lettuce. Total miss all around.

I enjoyed the Alfredo sauce with broccoli and chicken the last time I dined here. I have eaten here a couple of times and it smells great! If you love carbs this is the place!

This tiny restaurant in a narrow store-front in a strip mall just steps from the Purdue campus serves Thai food fast. Since I ate the entire large portion of pineapple rice with chicken, the meal was good but lacked the finesse of other Thai restaurants I been to. My server was attentive. I recommend Basil Thai for adults like myself who have forgotten our long ago college days!

Surprisingly good in the middle of nowhere. Recommended by a niece who used to live in West Lafayette 12 years ago. Not a lot of choices with dessert but you're not there for dessert. You're there for good quality Japanese food. A bit expensive though.

I was told that the indian restaurants at purdue are not that great, but when i went into shaunkeen and had the well known dish 'pav bhaji' it changed my perception because it tasted almost like you are having it in india. Though a little over the priced then india but, okay for an average meal cost in usa.

If you really, really love authentic Chinese food, you should save your dining dollars. This is fairly standard Americanized Chinese cooking. Lots of predictable, cornstarch laden brown sauces. Even the spiciest items on the menu are rather bland. The service is quick, however, and the takeaway portions are large, so it a pretty good value. Just donât expect anything special.

I enjoy Thai cuisine and was pleased to find Thai Essence. We stopped for lunch and I ordered Pra Ram w/chicken and my husband ordered the Beef and Broccoli. We both enjoyed our meal. I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant is situated in a storefront in a strip mall and, as such, lacked atmosphere. However the staff was attentive and the food was good. We look forward to returning to try other dishes on the menu.

This is a nice place if you want good sushi. The restaurant is very small and very basic. (It definitely isnât following the trend of the newer flashier sushi places that keep popping up everywhere with their dim lighting and loud club music). They have a great selection of traditional Japanese fair. The kids enjoyed the chicken teriyaki and rice. We order about 12 sushi rolls with the other adults at the table. Everything was very good and fresh. They even have a roll with peanut butter in it! They have a small selection of beer, sake and soft drinks.
