I want feeling like a full meal for dinner so opted for a wanton soup and mixed entree. Soup was different in that usually ordering wanton soup means 3-4 wantons in a clear broth not this time heaps of veggies and a slightly sweet broth. Not sure i really liked it but was filling. The mixed entree of a curry puff satay stick fishcake and spring roll with dipping sauce.Satay was nice and flavoursome fishcake to oily spring roll crispy and curry puff a bit stodgy. Plenty of people in there picking up takeaways so other food must be good. One thing to note is i am a bit of a stickler for privacy in all forms so i objected to the staff reading out my phone number ( yes phone ordered) in a loud voice to all and sundry, i did mention this to her at the time for which she didn't seem to give a rat's ..

We arrived rather late into Tumut after a long days drive so took the opportunity to get a take away from Wing Cheng. We ordered two of the Chef specials and although they were tasty and had good spiciness, they were very oily. When all the meat and veg. was removed from the container, it was left half full of oil. This was the case for both specials. Wing Cheng is obviously a very popular take away restaurant with travellers and locals. Most of the good reviews and the take aways while I was waiting for mine were for the honey chicken. Too bad that we both don't like honey chicken.

Went with my husband, then went back for his 50th birthday the next day as it was that good. A hidden gem in tumut. Was not disappointed.

Friendly bar staff but that is where the positive stops, smorgasboard consisted of chips, honey chicken, sweet and sour pork, fried rice, beef in gravy, some dish that had a hand full of prawns and little bits of meat in it, potato bake and fried crumb chicken pieces. Wayyyy tooo much fried filler foods that lacked taste . I wonât be back for the smorgasboard thatâs for sure.
