I loved the traditional setting of this place. The hospitality was also lovely since we arrived around 3pm for a late lunch, with a sleeping toddler. They quickly and smilingly let us in and got us more cushions for the kiddo. As they spoke little English, we ordered by pointing at whatever pictures they had and also randomly at the menu (it helped that we could make out some key kanji characters on the menu). Instructions on how to eat were also mimed. We knew how to mix the condiments for the dipping sauce, but didn't know that after finishing the noodles, hot water in which the soba had been cooked is added to the sauce to make a broth for drinking. We tried the duck soba and the sampler of regular, thick, and yuzu flavoured soba. This was cold with a soy-based dipping sauce. I loved the delicately flavoured yuzu soba and found the thick one a bit too hearty. We enjoyed the view into the garden, a beautiful natural Japanese style one with rain dripping down. Now I know what inspires their contemplative poetry.
Me and my wife are Japan Ramen lovers, we been trying to look for ramen in Malaysia and every time we travel to Japan. In a small town name Susono, we have discovered a ramen shop name Uneri and we decided to give a try.I ordered pork based soup and my wife had a mixed soup on pork base and fish base soup. We all enjoy on both soup based. The xiuyok (porkk slice) was so delicious and melted immediately after the first bite in your mouth. The pork based soup was so rich and thick, if you are think based soup lover, dont miss a change to try the ramen here if you pass by.
