Reviews on Asian food in Stone Town, Zanzibar City, Zanzibar Archipelago. Former palaces and Arab mansions along the twisting streets of Stone Town hint at a grander age for this port city on the western coast of Zanzibar. The Old Fort, built in the 1700s to fend off the Portuguese, now hosts local performances, a café and an art gallery. Overstuffed bazaars lend an air of nonstop bustle. Mafia Island Marine Park sits just offshore, a haven for snorkeling the local reefs. Day tours visit working plantations where the island's legendary spices are grown.

A restaurant brimming with character, the space creates an energetic, engaging atmosphere. With servers as quick with a smile as they are knowledgeable about their product, The Silk Route is a clean, modern social space ready to welcome you. Situated in S
Situated two floors up and with a fantastic view of the harbour and boats - their twinkling lights at nighttime. This (Indian) restaurant mixes traditional recipes with a fusion of Mediterranean and African flavours to produce some exquisite dishes. The lobsters and sauces were perfectly cooked and served together with a delightful fish soup and naan. These washed down with not one, but two, cocktails made a perfect meal to be finished of with homemade pistachio Kulfi and, if not being too greedy, freshly made gulab jamon!!All in all a wonderful meal from the Silk Route.
New open Chinese restaurant, we have very professional Chinese chef with reasonable price , we're ready here for you . Good location just next to the Indian Ocean.
Although new, this restaurant has become a quick favorite for residents in town. I frequent the place at least once a week and recommend anyone visiting even more than that! It is very refreshing that a new Chinese restaurant has opened in town, and one that is spacious with good lighting and a clean exterior - of course not to forget the delicious and fresh food that they serve! However, the true highlight here is of course the team - both wait staff are friendly and warm and provide great service, which is no doubt due to the influence of their Manager who himself exudes warmth and care about his restaurant and most importantly, his guests' experience. Thank you to the entire team and you will definitely see me back again very soon!

I stayed at the Tembo Hotel twice and loved it but the restaurant is a bit of a let down despite the view. The staff are pretty ordinary and the service is below par which is weird considering the staff in the hotel. The food is ok but don't go out of your way to get here as there is much better nearby. And they don't serve beer ! Although that is not the reason for the average score.

In the heart of Stone Town is the Pagoda Chinese Seafood Restaurant. It is a Cantonese restaurant along the back roads near Kelele Square. I found the long walk up the multiple steps to be good exercise. At the top was a dining room circa 1950s Chinese restaurant décor. The Chinese hostess told me that they had a special Chinese menu with Cantonese specialties. From that menu, I ordered a Seafood Casserole Soup as a starter. It was rich and creamy with fresh seafood from the Indian Ocean. It was followed by a fresh, spicy Bean Curd dish that whetted my taste buds. Last, the fresh Grouper was served whole sprinkled with sliced ginger, scallions and light soy as if I was in Guangzhou. Overall, the service was efficient and the meal outstanding for such a place far from China.

MASA is the only Japanese restaurant in Zanzibar. We utilize Zanzibar 's fresh seafood and ingredients to provide the finest meals. To ensure that your private time is more comfortable and to make your journey a more memorable experience, we will promise
We stopped there after wandering the streets of Stone Town as we needed a break from the many sellers. The restaurant has tables on a terrace and fans which make the stay more pleasant. We didn't feel like Japanese food and come across this place by chance. Our waiter (Franco Rosso) was really good and navigated us through the menu: we had an amazing tuna carpaccio and fried octopus with a refreshing beer. There is a good variety of food including chicken dishes, salads, sushi.

Krishna Food House is Multicuisine Indian Restaurant & Bar. Located in stone town Zanzibar near NBC bank. we open from morning 8 am to 10 pm everyday and we do have facility of Free home delivery within stone town.
Expected more considering the other reviews. Service was slow.Starter didn't turn up. Main courses had an oddly gluey texture and both tasted pretty similar as if the same sauce had been used with just some veg added to one. Quite pricey for what it was. Lots of other places do veg curry probably better.
