I use to love this place but tonight we were very disappointed. The place was really busy and the service was quick. But the food just seemed to lack flavour. My daughter ordered a coffee and when it arrived the milk/ cream was clearly off. Large lumps came out when she poured it . The waiter removed it and replaced it straight away but it really should not have been served like that. A couple of young waiters seemed a little overwhelmed with how busy the place was and tried to clear our plates while we were still eating then one came and asked if we were ready for our main meals even though he had cleared our plates a few minutes before.

Authentic honest Indian & Bangladeshi cuisine.
We just had a meal at this wonderful bistro. The staff were excellent suggesting dishes and were not at all pushy. The food was the best we have had for a long time. The whole place is geared to helping the customer enjoy their food. I would have absolutely no hesitation about giving the highest recommendation to this superb eatery.

Eight people, we were greeted by friendly staff who looked after us. A reasonable selection of beverages, wonderful selection of foods, all the foods we chose were very tasty, we had seven different dishes, papadums with a selection of sauces and mixes, nan bread and samosas for starters. My Madras was quite spicy, very tasty with plenty of meat. Good selection of desserts.

We ordered a large meal with extra meat and we received only 4 pieces in total and the manager and the staff tried their very best to lie and convince us that we had more meat than we actually had. Totally unacceptable behaviour from the staff very intimidating and totally unacceptable. I have pictures to prove this and only one member of staff actually apologised for the bad service and poor food. Really terrible experience and not a pleasant at all.

Founded in 1993 and long recognised as one of the UK's top 10 Indian restaurants, the Indian Ocean philosophy is a mix of the highest quality ingredients, perfect service and a welcoming atmosphere. We serve authentic Indian, Punjabi and Kashmiri cuisine
Come here a lot with family and Christmas time, family tradition and new additions to the family, itâs imperative for it!! Usually the Christmas time, as busy as it is itâs usually perfect for us, very friendly and accommodating but when it comes to take out it changes completely, rude staff, no attentive to their customers and very poor quality food.We will remain for Christmas as itâs our tradition but not to sure about take out as the food has dropped and the quality isnât the best.Hope to see improvements.

It's a vegetarian indian restaurant in Ashton under Lyne and is probably the best veggie restaurant I've ever visited! Superb food, very cheap and a varied menu!
Visited here to eat for first time and was impressed by the food, ambience and decor. Whilst there are lots of restaurants in the UK claiming to be âIndianâ, this one is definitely an authentic Indian restaurant with well made and good value food. Service was a little hit and miss but overall a great place to visit for traditionally Street food and mains. Iâll certainly look to return. We also bought some food to take away including Indian sweets (mithai) and samosas - again excellent quality and lots of vegan choice. Well done Lilyâs!

Have bought curries from Nat and Jan for a number of years now. Their bombay potatoes, lamb keema and stuffed aubergines (need to order a few days in advance) are to die for. Now have seating. One of a small number of businesses in Ashton doing very well because they know their market.

A traditional concept in Indian cuisine in the heart of Stalybridge. Serving authentic Indian food in a relaxed and contemporary ambience.
Only ever heard great things about the Swaadesh so last night a group of ten of us ventured in, We really wasn't to be disappointed & was treated like royalty from the moment we arrived, actually reminded me of the scene from coming to America when Rose petals were sprinkled on the floor wherever the young Prince went, that's how much the waiters looked after you. Another bonus was taking your own alcohol which always helps save the pennies. No corkage charge either so yet again another result.Regarding the food I have to say I've travelled just about all four corners of our wonderful planet and spent quiet a lengthy amount of time in India/Bangladesh in my younger days, I lived off all the top street food stalls in Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata & Hyderabad for near on 18 months and the Swaadesh beats all of those hands down. We all chose different dishes and we were blown away by the quality. It's just little things that makes it special too, extra orange segments and chocolate sweets for everyone at the end. It truly is a wonderful place to eat and I'm in no doubt the number one curry house not only in tameside but in the Northwest. If there was one negative to take from the night which I'd hope the management will address, I had nowhere to hang my coat up.Many thanksCraig/Shane and the gang xHello Craig, appreciate your kind words and comments. Indian Pub and Restaurant with Shisha Bar
My partner and I got a groupon deal, but we could t resist a shisha aswell and a bottle of wine, the food was outstanding the best Indian food we have had! Fresh and tasty we will defiantly be returning here and weâre glad as we live close by! The outdoor / shisha area is really nice leather seating with heat lamps, highly recommended.
