Things to do in Scotts Valley
Warm welcome. Very pleasant and friendly staff in this family restaurant. Mom and dad are in the kitchen, son is the waiter. We were very surprised at such good Cantonese food in a small town. We had the combination plates, almond chicken, sweet and sour pork, fried rice and fried prawns and a soup starter.Huge portions! Each plate is enough for 2. I wish we had a local Chinese restaurant this good in our hometown. Next time in Scott's Valley this is the go to place.

Went to this restaurant for lunch when we visited some friends in Scotts Valley. They didn't exactly recommend it for quality, as they (Together with us on a previous visit 1.5 years ago) haven't been there since it changed owners. Mostly because it was convenient. The previous experience was not a good one due more to bad service than the food which was so-so. So we decided it give it another try as I really wanted to have some Japanese food. The decor of the restaurant, in an outdoor shopping center, didn't look much different from its predecessor, with a big sushi island in the middle and fairly spacious and comfortable seating around it. Environment was pleasant enough. Service was better, the food however was very disappointing, I had the bento with tempura and California rolls, the batter on the tempura was so thick that I had to peel it off in order to get to whatever little bits of food that's inside, otherwise you could take multiple bites and never get past the batter. The California rolls were huge but totally bland with unappetizing color and mushed up fish stick filling, I wasn't sure if there were even any avocados in them. One of us ordered grilled fish and it came with a huge amount of not very fresh lettuce and 2 tiny pieces of fish hidden from view like they were buried there as an afterthought. Also had the age tofu, which came in a huge portion, but no representation whatsoever, you just get a large pile of cubed fried tofu and a bowl of dipping sauce that didnt have much flavor. I concede that restaurants don't have to serve everything the same way, but this was the first time I saw age tofu prepared in this undignified fashion. I'd hate to say that this was the worst Japanese food I'd ever had but there's just no other way to describe the experience. I am not familiar with Scotts Valley so not sure what alternative there is for Japanese food or whether this happens to be the locally preferred style. But needless to say when we visit again, we will not be going back.

I got takeout. Customer service was lovely. Potstickers were delicious. The Pad See Ew was absolutely inedible. It was tasteless and just had no redeeming qualities whatsoever. Very, very disappointing I took one bite and dumped it. Now I have to go back out to get something to eat at another restaurant. (I"m visiting and staying at a local hotel) And I gave a tip too!!

This is a great restaurant to go to for good food and good quantities. The best deals are their lunch specials. The dinner deals are good but not as good as the lunch deals. Take out if you want it is very quick. My wife is allergic to MSG but has not had any problem with food from ABC. The atmosphere, while not bad, is nothing to write home about. Pretty non-descript, so I would recommend it for a good meal, but not for any special occasion. They don't have a website but I included a link to the menu.

We liked the food here but the gelato was not great despite some comments in TA. Just a word of warning too: this place is very cafeteria style and not for any stylish dinner. Itâs also loud and maybe the door being open by people collecting takeaways meant it was so cold we kept our costs on. Service was good.

Back in Scottâs Valley and at Rumble Fish again, as promised in my previous review, about 9 months ago. The only major change that this visit was now for dinner, and we werenât disappointed. Instead of Bento boxes, we had dinners which included salad, tempura, fruit, miso and a selection of family sized sushi. California rolls, Godzilla roll, which was very delicious and no one felt like destroying cities after we ate (LOL). Service was excellent.when we arrived they were very busy, but opened another section for our. This place canât be beat. Will return next time we are in the area.

Experienced this food for dinner while visiting family who lived in the area. Food was ordered as take out and the family ate at home.Thai food is one of my favorite ethnic cuisines and I eat it often. Having spent time in Thailand I have developed a taste for the complex flavors when cooked properly.I have to say that everything of the selection of food I ate from Kao Sook was very disappointing, given my relatives love the food from this restaurant. My main complaint is that the food was bland. There was not one dish that exhibited the the balance of sweet, hot and salty that give well prepared Thai food it's addictive flavors when prepared properly. The Pad Thai with chicken was a generous amount of noodles with a pink color sauce that was scattered with a few chopped peanuts and very little other vegetable ingredients. The green papaya salad had zero flavor and missed the tangy taste of lime and fish sauce. The Panang chicken curry was very thin and watery with no flavor and pieces of pounded chicken that was dry and rubbery. The tofu with eggplant was passable in that the eggplant was from but well cooked, but again, totally tasteless

Hidden behind a Taco Bell on a busy corner, decent sushi at very reasonable prices. Restaurant was clean, service was friendly and prompt. Quantity is clearly a draw here but the quality was certainly acceptable. The $10 two item lunch is a real deal and the perfectly ripe fruit in the Bento box was a nice touch. Daughter had tempura udon and they correctly serve it with tempura brought on the side for the customer to dip. We were on the later side, 1:10 so were seated right away and food came quickly. Good value, I would eat here again when in Scotts Valley/Mt.Hermon
