While staying in San Clemente recently we decided to try New Mandarin Garden Chinese food. The restaurant is located in a small shopping plaza known as Old Town. I ordered food to pickup and took it back to our hotel. I ordered chicken chow mein, shrimp fried rice, beef and broccoli and some soup. All the dishes were excellent. And I really appreciated that they were packed in reusable plastic containers. I hate those traditional little cardboard containers. My only lament is that it is a little pricey. Over 50 dollars for our order. But the quality makes up for it and we will definitely be back.

Staff is cordial, food is good - although def spicy. Finally found a veg spring roll without mushroom but completely unseasoned.We ordered Panang which was good. Asked for brown rice but got white. We also ordered spicy noodle curry noodles which was decent.My daughter stayed hungry. Everything is probably pre-made because they could not make a simple spaghetti without the spice. Asked for tofu in her dish that never came.Recommend the food, but not the best place for families with younger kids.

While visiting San Clemente, we asked around for the best sushi and, hands down, we kept hearing Muse! Happy to say, their food exceeded expectations! The restaurant is very small and typically does not take reservations. We went twice for dinner during the week by 6 pm and had no problems with getting seated. Don't let the small space make your decision - the sushi quality is well worth the tight space! If you like edamame as a starter, you can choose from the typical version or go for a spicy version that has quick a kick. Salads are fresh and several include fish. We loved the poki salad and spicy tuna salad - both were a generous portion. Special rolls were great - one better than the other! Melt in your mouth, tasty toppings, and good size rolls. Highly, highly recommended!

I have eaten here about five times now. As I mentioned before, the sushi rolls are very good. Happy Hour deals are wonderful! We were served again by Lauren a few times who is a great waitress. The owner (Sage) is a good guy. I have had a chance to speak with him a couple times now. The only "problem" is the restaurant is getting busier and busier as locals and tourists hear more about it. Keep up the good guys!

Some times eating out alone isn't fun, but the sushi chefs are pretty friendly and actually pretty funny! Loved the roll I got and the sauce was amazing...but the amount of sauce was a little more than I like. I would ask for sauce on the side next time. If I lived here, this would be my sushi spot.

Don't be afraid of the mall pad location this is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have ever eaten at. It is only a couple of minutes from the Holiday Inn Express and the outlet mall. We started with appetizers fried eggrolls and fresh springrolls. Both were excellent and large portions. Next we had medium wonton soup, a large wonderful bowl beyond expectations. The shrimp chowmein was full authentic pho style belying its name and was outstanding. This is one of the best places to eat in the area and our meal with tip was only $35. Do not miss this gem.

Although I am not a big fan or expert of sushis, but that place really surprised me with the flavors, quality, diversity and service. Was there with an experience sushi eating friend of mine who also couldn't stop praising the place. It was in deed an exceptional sushi tasting experience. Strongly recommend.

Worth driving out of the way for. What appears to be a ma/pa owned and operated place with the best Thai. This is the first time I've seen one other worker there. If they have a fault it's being understaffed. Prepare to wait for a table then another wait to be served. I was there for 2 hours for what normally would have been a 45 minute visit.TIP: DO NOT sit at the table by the front door. It's right under the unrelenting A/C duct and you will wish you had a heavy coat and hat. Prices are LOW.
