Not only are the Sushi dishes at SushiMakio scrumptious on the palate, but each plate is beautifully crafted and presented as edible artwork. This is not your run of the mill fish; the seafood leaving Idesako's kitchen is a study in perfect seasoning, age
To be fair, this is Kingston -- but standing on its own, the sushi was merely very good. Some of the fish was chewy and stringy - a "no-no." In addition, pricing was on the high-end.Hello,Iâm sorry to hear about your experience here at SushiMakio. Can you confirm which fish you were not too pleased with? This way we can make sure this doesnât happen again. Also, the pricing of our menu fits our restaurant model to ensure we can continue operating. Quality control is one of our main priorities, hence my questioning of the fish that you had that was âstringyâ. We like to ensure that our customers get the quality they pay for, but in this case there appears to have been a discrepancy.Iâm looking forward to hearing from you.

When I visit family in Rhinebeck this is one of my go-to restaurants. Expensive, but great food. Small and family owned. I especially like the sashimi. This time we had a large group so ordered take-out and picked it up.

Except, skip the Fresh rolls with shrimp, bland and lacking shrinp. The curries on the other hand were typical of what can be found in most Thai restaurants: my wife had the Massaman Currry while I went with Green Curry. Both were good but nothing exceptional.Service was so-so.May be back in the future but many other choices in town.

I moved here from a place that had some pretty phenomenal Chinese food. This place is just okay. It does the job. It has the traditional menu, but is just fine. The woman who answers the phone and takes orders though, although, it's a hoot, needs to stop shouting at customers on the other end. It's actually deafening. You can say it loudly, slowly, succinctly, you still get yelled at, but ... as I said, it's a bit of a comedy routine.
New York, United States Food Guide: 5 Bar food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Red Hook
I believe this restaurant is associated with Yum Yum restaurants in other nearby locations like Woodstock, NY and is a welcome addition to places in Red Hook. The restaurant is clean and spacious...tables are not on top of each other and plenty of room at the full bar, which should fill up as people get to know the place. We got there later in the evening after a movie and tried a couple of dishes and appetizers and were happy with the taste and quality of everything we ordered, particularly the steamed buns with pork belly, which was heavenly. We also tried the peanut noodles, which were fine, but compared to the steamed buns a very distant second. The ramen noodle bowl was filling, the beef was very tasty ad the bibimap scored highly with my daughter, who took most of it home for tomorrows lunch.Prices were reasonable, servings a good size and everything was cooked to order, so arrived at the table very nicely. Service was friendly but not overdone, so we had no trouble enjoying our meal and talking without interuption. Will definitely go again...only this time will double up the order on the steamed buns!

I have been here a number of times over the last 6 or 8 years, and the food has been consistently high quality, especially the sushi. Always fresh. I've eaten in sushi restaurants in Tokyo and Osaka as well as in NYCity and Hana Sushi is comparable to the best. Not fancy but the waitstaff are always Japanese and knowledgeable. It has been my reliable sushi restaurant in Dutchess County as many others have come and gone.
