It is connected by state highway to other major towns in the state and lies between Pelling and Gangtok. It acts as the starting point for the trek to Maenam Wildlife Sanctuary. It is approximately 65 km away from the state capital Gangtok and 120 km away from Siliguri, West Bengal.

My partner and I visited this place several times during our recent stay in Ravangla. The tea was lovely and hot, the food was delicious, well cooked and well presented too. The place has a very nice relaxed ambiance making it a great place for dinner. But moreover, the friendly and personal service that we received from Sunil (the manager) was absolutely brilliant. He helped us out so much with information and advice during our stay. We feel that we definitely made a new friend in this place. This restaurant is all round an excellent choice in Ravangla!

We were in a group of ten(10) for Bhalley Dhunga/Mainam Peak trekking trip in the month of mid Nov.we have enjoyed a lot of local eatables before going to "Odarey" multi purpose hall for dance.we have enjoyed dancing in weekend and it was a good preparation for next morning trekking to 11000 ft.altitude from MSL.A wonderful experience in this restaurant cum bar inside Hotel Ravongla Star.

Had been at Kookay for lunch while visiting Ravangla temple.Kookay is an well maintained & tourist friendly restaurant on its vicinity. The food is lip smacking . Chicken Momo , Noodles, Chilli chicken are must try dishes.The staffs are very humble & quick at service.
