Myself and my husband had a meal in this restaurant last night, and it was the nicest meal I have ever tasted. Fresh food, prompt service and very friendly staff who were willing to chat, ask if everything was ok, and gave us a card to fill out at the end of the visit. We never felt rushed here. Dont let the small numbers of seated patrons put you off, as this is, in my opinion a good thing. By the way they don't serve alcohol, but you are allowed to bring in your own.

This is a typical first floor Chinese Restaurant layout until you walk in and realise they have a good amount of the dining area lying unused. Perhaps they have too much space for their requirements.Anyway to the positive, it clean, comfortable, friendly staff and a comprehensive menu plus a great value set menu for â¬18/19.00 for starter combo, main, ice cream and tea/coffee. We all had different dishes and the three of us enjoyed our food. Well worth a visit if you're in the area and hungry. The portion are generous too. They do a great take away business so the restaurant is probably just an additional revenue stream. You could make a fabulous restaurant out of thisEmperor's House.
This place has it all - modern, clean and comfortable. Service is delightful. This place is owned and run by a couple. The lady provides delightful service and her husband is the chef. I must say I would have never ventured into here only I met a friend yesterday who suggested it. So it was lunch time about 12. I think she only opened it. We were brought to our table. I asked a for a table of 4 but there was only 2 of us as I love space. I ordered the roast duck with the plum sauce and chips on the side that was only 11 euro and my friend ordered a chicken curry with boiled rice and we both had pints of coke. I must say it was the tastyised meal I ever had the meat was cooked great as it was soft and the plum sauce was served separately with root vegetables. The sides are extra but the chips were to die for. Presentation is excellent. So I tasted my friends chicken curry and it was soft as well. Cooked very well. It was quiet at first then more people came in. So its quite popular. They also provide fastfood service. Our meal came to 27e and I gave a tip of 3 euro. I would come back again and bring all my friend and I had to tell all on tripadvisor too. So please go and support them. Another point to say is that there are cosy corners so you could corner off an area if you had a group with you as well. They do provide kids meals too. Plenty of food to choose from.
I found out about Krabi Thai by accident. Despite being open a few months, I only heard about it last week. So I made sure to check it out as quickly as possible. I read the reviews here first, so I could get an angle on things, but my review will be based on my particular experience. I visited during lunch time on a recent Friday. I was greeted on arrival and shown to a table that was already set and with a menu. So far so good. Staff were friendly and polite. There was a steady enough turnover of customers. I thought the menu was very good. Its tight and that's a good sign. After a few minutes a nice Irish girl came to take my order. Nice to see Irish staff in a place like this. I opted for the Thai Green Chicken curry with rice and chips and a Diet Coke. Now I wouldn't normally order chips, but I wanted to check out the quality because I know that a lot of readers here like chips with this kind of food, so no harm in finding out. My drink was delivered within a few minutes of ordering. Nice and simple, a can and straw. Not long after that, my meal came out. The rice was in a box, the curry in a similar type tub and the chips in a cardboard carton. I was liking this already. Krabi Thai are going for the street food vibe in a very informal restaurant setting. It works. So onto the food. Well I'm very familiar with Green Curries, abroad and in Ireland. It's pretty damn hard to get a nice one unless you make it at home. This one was delightful. Not as hot as it could be and I accept that as the menu is targeted at a new audience. But was very flavoursome. You could taste the ingredients. Unlike reheated muck that tries to pass itself off as green curry, the sauce was watery and not gloopy. That's the way its meant to be. The chicken was tasty and plentiful along with the veg. The rice was great too. For you chip lovers out there, they were actually very very tasty. Very very close to a chip you would pay 4.50 for in a restaurant or gastro pub. Nothing like what you get from a bog standard chinese takeaway. The portion size was brilliant. For a lunch serving I could have easily split it between two. I didn't finish everything, but I was stuffed to the point where I couldn't even manage to have a free self service Icecream cone. My bill? 14 quid for the lot. That's seriously great value for a big lunch and dessert if you fancy it. Krabi Thai is a fantastic addition to Portlaoise. Try it for lunch, takeaway or evening meal (price increases slightly for a mains in the evening.) Highly recommend it.

We went to Lana yesterday the waitress gave us a big welcome. She then handed us the menus there was a lot of options and even for somebody who doesnât like Asian food I ordered the ribs and rice and the other person ordered the green curry. The food came out after about 15 minutes and was so tasty the curry even came with side portion of chips and we didnât even ask for it.When the waitress came to collect our dishes she said there is a self service ice cream machine over there and it comes with any meal you purchase.I was jaw dropped and couldnât get over myself it was only â¬24 for the meal and that wasnât even counting the side chips.Wow certainly come here If you donât like Asian food so nice and I will be returning.
