This place is always hopping, but it does not keep the staff from being engaged, attentive, and kind!As with any good restaurant, good experiences begin with very good ingredients and well-executed preparation. Han scored well on both counts!Chinese staples, like soups were standouts. I ordered one of the specialty dishes, said and vegetables, and my wife had the braised beef buns. Both were great.Place is crowded and noisy, and not handicap friendly, but the overall experience was positive.

We went with a friend the other night and had some delicious drinks at the bar before sitting down at a table for dinner. First, letâs just say the bartender, Evan is very talented at his job, but also a bit frenetic. He makes amazing cocktails that are not all sweet (hurray!!!). He clearly loves what he does and heâs glad to tell you....step by step.....every time....in scattered detail....while bottles are being slung and ingredients are being prepped....and juicers are churning....and well, itâs a lot. Our party struggled to have a conversation at the bar. But let me underscore, he is a great mixologist. Went to the table for dinner and we sat for quite a long time before the waitress came by. Others have mentioned the slow service and I can absolutely confirm that observation. We ordered a couple of drinks and they took more than 10 minutes. Over at the bar, a new couple of customers arrived and were treated to the same Evan show that we experienced. He even told the same jokes. Itâs cute, but wow, it slows down the drink service. Eventually the waitress came for our dinner order. Again, very slow. For apps we had really wonderful pan fried dumplings, and super crispy and well made egg rolls. We randomly ordered the fried peanuts without asking what they were... and we received a bowl of lightly salted spanish peanuts, just like out of the can. The entrees were good. The shrimp and walnuts was a stand out with really fresh tasting shrimp perfectly cooked. The orange beef was a disappointment. The coating (corn starch? rice flour?) was pasty and thick under the viscous sweet orange chili sauce. It would have been great if properly flash fried and crispy before being tossed with the sweet sauce. The flavors were there, but the texture was way off. We wondered if this odd little place will last. We all predict that Evan will find his niche somewhere else.... he belongs at a trendy bespoke cocktail parlor. If you go, plan for a leisurely time, sit at a table, enjoy some really wonderful cocktails, and donât bother with the peanuts.

We swung by here on the way home this weekend for a quick dinner. Even though the place was filled to the gills by a very large party, they still filled our order quickly and efficiently....tasty as ever. This is a wonderful place to get a quick meal for not much money. We really enjoy it.

All meat at Swan Market is hand-cut, all sausage hand-made by owner Barry Fischer, who apprenticed with German master butchers to bring you a taste of Germany that's authentic down to the last detail. Swan's renowned German lunches are served Wednesday th
Weâd wanted a stop for lunch on route from Connecticut to Toronto. Checked on TripAdvisor, we picked their #1 eatery in Rochester - Swan Market. Drove in Rochester under major rain, the market/restaurant was on a long street in a sketchy residential neighbourhood. The restaurant has only 3 long communal tables. Be very prepared to share table with lotâs of locals/people from all walks for lunch. We sat with a 3 generations-grandfather, father and 12 year old son and a brand new parents with their 1 month old son. The staffs are very friendly and efficient. We had the sausages sampler, and another lunch sampler meaning we had tried most of their known produces. A big counter at the opposite end of the restaurant had all the sausages and German made products, jams, bread for sale. It was the closest way to get to Germany. Get your own experience!

I wanted to give Plum Garden a second chance. It's been a couple years since I made my first visit, and that wasn't too spectacular. Not quite sure where to go on a Sunday evening for mid-lunch, I gave it another go. We called in to make reservations at 4pm, but were told to 'go ahead and walk in.' We walked in, were greeted and sat down on the diner side. I have to note, the diner side is one of the best Japanese looking restaurants I've seen. I absolutely love the way how everything is laid out with the décor, and the overall atmosphere. If the diner side was a stand alone restaurant, I think it'd look wonderful. We placed in our appetizer (Gyoza) which did take a bit longer than expected to receive. Being only two couples in the restaurant (us included), we're not sure what was the hold up. When we finally received the gyoza, these were very tasty. Tender, tasted homemade but on the lukewarm side. I then saw a "special appetizer" on the small plastic stand on the table, and ordered that as well. It was baby octopus "Ee Taco." These small little guys were tasty and accompanied with a tasty sauce. Placing in a couple kitchen entrees alongside with a handful of nigiri and a roll, these came out in a reasonable time. For the entrees, we opted for the Nabeyaki Udon, and Unaju. The Nabeyaki Udon was tasty and I don't have any complaints. The only thing that threw me off, is there was a piece of chicken in the bowl which from my experience a Nabeyaki Udon doesn't contain chicken. Normally just shrimp tempura and vegetables (as it states on the menu). Good thing I wasn't a vegetarian (who can eat seafood). As for the Unaju, it was a nice piece of eel on top of rice in a box with a top. I have no complaints here, but nothing that blew my mind. I've had better Eel bowls elsewhere. As for the assortment of nigiri, I ordered tuna, mackerel, salmon, egg, octopus, squid, yellowtail, sweet shrimp, toro, scallop, and uni. These are why I drop a star. The tuna and salmon both tasted fishy. Color wise, looked fine, but taste wise was off. Same for the uni. Wasn't the freshest, but passible. The one disappointment that really struck me hard was the toro. Mind you, these are $5 per piece. The slices were extremely too thin, and literally not unified with the rice whatsoever. Seemed like they were just placed on top. Not only that, but again for $5 a piece, I expected them to be at least sliced decently. As you can see in one of my pictures, the piece wasn't sliced correctly and looked like one end was ripped off. There was a peculiar pinkish liquid left on the plate after picking up a piece of toro nigiri. Taste wise, these weren't bad. But I've had better. I also want to note the rice formed underneath the nigiri was too sporadic. From different lengths, and to different amounts. Onto the roll, I only have one complaint which is I wished it was wrapped tighter. But other than that, it was tasty and presented pretty standardly. Now we get to why I'm deducting yet another star. When we finally received our appetizer, I can over hear some conversation by the staff. It was between the sushi chef, and the wait staff. I'm not one to eavesdrop, but from what I had caught, a hibachi chef called off and now the sushi chef is called to take over and cook for a table. This set the sushi chef on a rampage. Cuss words here and there. We were sitting the furthest away from the sushi bar, but we heard everything. It was crystal clear the sushi chef wasn't happy. Besides the cussing, we then heard some utensils being thrown around, clanging in the kitchen and at the sushi bar. Regardless of the situation, we thought it was unprofessional to cuss around customers, let alone throw things around and throw a tantrum. This made us feel uncomfortable, especially since he was still working on our order. Flicking the order receipts off his sushi counter onto the customer seating counter below just set a bad vibe. This behavior left a bad taste in our mouths. Overall, I wanted to give this restaurant a second chance because I remembered how beautiful the interior was, and hope the rice wasn't mushy this second time around. None of the nigiri blew me away, the time we waited for our appetizer, and the behavior and attitude of the sushi chef are the main reasons I won't be returning to Plum Garden.

This is the unfriendliest chinese restaurants I have experienced in the entire US. The owners are rude to their employees and never say a THANK You to their customers. The food is also substandard. The only reason why they are still in business must be that there are no other take-out restaurants in the area. So to all the asian people out there, start a good chinese take-out restaurant in the Pittsford area!!

When is a grocery store a tourist destination? When it's Wegmans flagship store. I'ts sensory overload. The cafe has a dizzying variety of prepared meals. You could visit every day for a year and not eat the same thing twice. Gourmet, vegan, kosher, Asian, BBQ, Mexican, you name it, they have it. People from out of town seek it out and are overwhelmed, and envious. Lots of locals know and love it and the bustling about makes it the Grand Central Station of grocery stores. For a quieter spot to enjoy your meal, head upstairs. If I ever moved, I'd miss this place.
