Reviews on Asian food in Parksville, British Columbia, Canada. Established in 1910, Parksville is one of Canada's most popular summer destinations for families. Everyone loves Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park, with its beaches, tidal flats and pools, wildlife, and campgrounds; and several other provincial parks are within half an hour's drive. Follow Vancouver Island's Highway 19 (Island Highway) to reach nearby Qualicum Beach and the Comox Valley.

We arrived here 1/2 hour before closing, so decided that we would take a sushi tray "to go". We hadn't experienced the food here previously, so hoped that we had "chosen well" for our dinner. We were very pleasantly surprised at the quality and wonderful tastes of the assorted sushi tray that we received. It was all very fresh. We ordered the "Plum" Sushi Party Tray. I must add that their California Roll and Dynamite Roll are my very faves! We'll definitely be choosing this establishment for our sushi cravings, again.

Have been there several times and the food was quite good. Last week I had a udon vegetarian soup. Later that day I developed stomach pains that developed into violent vomiting. Aside from a peanut butter and jam breakfast, that soup was all I had. It was food poisoning. I know from a previous experience a decade ago. You don't forget. I told them the next day and the response did not indicate acceptance of what I was telling them. Mostly denial. Will not return.

A small, plain family restaurant, with no âdecorâ to speak of but donât let that stop you. Once you sit down you will be served by a phenomenally efficient and friendly server who is quite willing to make suggestions if asked. My husband ordered seafood with soft chow mein (9.50) and a side of deep fried prawns ($5.00 for 6). I ordered the combo 31, grilled lemongrass chicken, spring rolls, deep fried prawns and vermicelli noodles ($10.50). I also ordered a side of 2 salad rolls ($4.50). We were very quickly served amply filled plates of tasty, fresh food. The seafood chow mein was loaded with prawns, squid, fish balls and tons of lightly sautéed veggies. My combo plate consisted of two good size pieces of grilled and tender chicken, two tasty spring rolls that were not the least bit greasy, and four deep fried prawns. I was too full to eat the salad rolls, and they made a tasty midnight snack I noticed the restaurant is closed Saturday and Sunday. Very tasty, and reasonable too! And friendly service. Highly recommended.

We stumbled upon this lovely place when we were trying to decide whether to just head home or eat out. And there it WAS! Well, we were glad we had such good luck. The White Elephant is a lovely Thai Restaurant with food that attains the visual perfection that we love about this cuisine and the delight on the palate too. We've been repeat customers and will definitely keep The White Elephant on our list of favorites.

We were advised the food was good here and we weren't disappointed. The beer, well that's another thing, after spending our time drinking fantastic IPAs all over Canada it was a disappointing selection of watery fare. But the food was great. The only thing I would advise is to order starters first, eat, then order mains, as our mains came within 2 minutes of starters, despite us specifically asking that wouldn't happen. Maybe he misunderstood. Anyway the food was great.

This sushi restaurant serves high quality sushi, rice bowls, salads, tempura, and other appetizers. The staff consists of a young Japanese couple - he does most of the cooking and she does most of the serving. There are a half dozen small tables - we reserved to get a table for 4. The food was made fresh and served quickly. The yam roll was particularly good! We also had dynamite roll, California roll, inari, and tuna roll - all very good. One of us had the chicken teriyaki bowl - it was a little too much rice compared to the amount of chicken and teriyaki sauce but was delicious. The tempura was very good - fresh, light, and not greasy. The only down side (and it's slight) is that the hours are very short (closes after dinner at 7 pm). We would definitely go again!

I was attracted to this place by the TripAdvisor rating and by the promise of real Vietnamese food. (toi yeu tuch an Viet Nam)I ordered the Caramel Seafood full of anticipation..... but how disappointed I was: The seafood was good.... but hang on... bland blanched Broccoli & Carrots are the vegetables ?? Without any kind of spice or seasoning? That is appalling! And given that this place is rather expensive, I am sure that I will never set foot into this establishment again..I ask for the bill. That was how many minutes ago????
