I visited alone, monday night in Sidmouth was in walking distance of hotel, only another table of 9 in. Waiter good, had draught cobra beer which was good, usually in bottles. I didnt have a starter, but chicken tikka shamwalla & mushroom rice lovely, not over priced. I read review calling it grubby, not at all, they must be thinking of the one across the road.

In the town centre of Sidmouth, opposite the Sidmouth Conservative Club and cinema.
Working in Sidmouth for a week and it was time for my weekly curry fix, read good reviews about the Sidmouth Tandoori also was recommended by some locals.Very small restaurant as well as takeaway and basic no frills, i love good reviews from a basic restaurant, i was told that you have to book to get a table (another good sign ) i opted for a take out and after ordering from a great menu some of the dishes i hadnât heard of before along with the classic greats. I chatted to the lady owner who takes the orders, she told me that her and her husband had been in the same spot for 17yrs and still have the same menu which her husband devised and does all of the cooking. What a charming lovely lady, we chatted about different foods and countries until my order was ready. The food was over outstanding full of tastes and perfectly cooked , bare in mind i live in london and iâm spoilt for choice for a curry , i have many reviews if you care to look. The Sidmouth Tandoori takes my top slot by quite a margin and if i lived less than the four hours away that i do iâd be a regular, you never know maybe one day when a few of us fancy a curry we might just be back.(thanks for the fork loan, will bring it back tomorrow )

The samosa lady only does a few dinning nights a month open for snacks, take away curries fresh & frozen, samosa & bhaji which you heat up at home also delicious coriander chutney she also does events & outside catering she is very busy

We have a wide experience of 'Indian' restaurants and order take away food from here regularly; it seldom disappoints. Service is extremely good from both the owner and the lady who takes the orders. They will prepare things according to taste and the dhansak, madras, tarka dhal, saag baji, lamb rogon and garlic chicken are all family favourites. I don't recognise the place described in some of the more negative recent reviews, and will be going to place my order shortly!
