The Smokey Mountain area of Tennessee around Gatlinburg is a real tourist trap so I chose to headquarter my genealogy study in Newport, the county seat of Cocke County. There I discovered a fabulous little restaurant, Grill 73, that serves authentic Russian food. This food was the best! Friendly owners cook and serve the food in a beautiful atmosphere like no other! I highly recommend this restaurant located on the Pigeon River for fabulous food and scenery!

have been here a couple of times and was very impressed with the food and friendly service......a couple of things that have caught my concern is the fact that they are out of a lot of different fish served on the sushi/sashimi menu.........everytime ive been.........when it comes to raw fish I want to feel without a doubt that it is being handled correctly.........which it may be......I just am not willing to take that chance.........price for sushi and sashimi is expensive here........especially for a what type of place it is..........ive eaten in several Japanese steakhouses that were not as expensive as this..........but the taste has been fantastic and very friendly staff each time ive been here

We went to their restaurant in Pigeon Forge and we asked them if they did crispy beef they said no but our chef in Newport knows how to make it so we went to Newport and we asked the chef does he know how to make crispy chili beef and he said yes it's very hard to find at a Chinese restaurant in America but in Hong Kong and in England every Chinese restaurant has crispy beef the chef made it almost exactly right we have been back several times and each time it gets better it's not on the menu you have to ask for it but once you do you'll fall in love with it had some friends they said it was some of the best Chinese food they ever had we will be back again they just recently opened this location and is very clean and the staff are more than friendly

The grill food was not that bad but the rest of the experience was rather disturbing. The salad lettuce was sopping wet which and the very odd ginger dressing, that looked more like a solid block of old cheese, The menus were food stained and dirty. The waitress we had was more interested in playing with her phone than serving the table. It was dirty and unless it closed and was redone, we will not be back. Surprised that this is still in business.
