It's taken a while to get over the shock of the vile assault by this restaurant on the wonderful Indian cuisine. If you are considering a visit then quite simply don't. Save you money and go elsewhere. This place'catered' for a wedding I was at a couple of weeks ago I've never had such appalling food. The mild hot and medium curry tasted the same, the Dahl looked like slops without any hint of a lentil. The chicken had just been taken out of a freezer so was ice cold. The worst of it was the rice was served in a filthy plastic washing up bowl. health and safety really need to go and investigate.Sadly it did spoil the wedding as guests were ravenous after the food was nearly 2 hours late And then there wasn't enough to go round! Appalling food and service, I shudder to think about the state of the kitchen as my husband threw up everything he ate within 5 minutes. We didn't tell the bride so as not to ruin her evening any further... avoid at all cost.

We have been here many times, but for some reason not go round to reviewing and thought it was time I did.So another very enjoyable meal, we were early for our table but that wasn't a problem. The staff catered well to our younger diners, providing glasses of milk rather than carbonated drinks. The softshell crab that we ordered as one of our starters was excellent as always, the other starters were great as always (and I did slightly over order but it meant we got a good variety). The main course dishes were good, with a number from each section of the menu. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the sizzling lamb ( a first time order) was perfect - the lamb fell apart in your mouth. At the end of the meal we enjoyed the coffee, always good, and a few of the typical pudding options. The staff were charming as ever and appropriately attentive. The only mix up was caused by one of our older diners in the group changing their mind repeatedly in the middle of ordering - but that was met with humour and a smile. So in all a family favourite, both for the quality of the food and the service. An enjoyable unhurried meal out. We are always impressed at the value for money

My wife and I were taken to Montaz by an old and much respected foodie friend who we were staying with in Ely. What a fabulous find and what a fabulous evening of dining. The restaurant was full but not noisy, there were plenty of serving staff who were silently available if you wanted anything but not overbearing and constantly asking you if everything was alright. But the main thing was the food. It was simply delicious from the first mouthful to the last. A definite place to go back to when we are within striking distance.

Blending the robust flavours and fragrant spices of Far Eastern cooking, Sangdao showcases a lively, lavish setting in which to enjoy authentically exotic flavours. In a dramatic dining room filled with gilded artefacts and elegantly-dressed tables, guest
We booked online through their website and I had an email confirmation within 5 minutes, wow. The restaurant was thankfully air-conditioned as it was a sweltering hot day. The fish cake starters were delicious and my main, 'the chefs special tiger beef' was a revelation for tenderness and taste. Other main of sweet and sour chicken was said also to be excellent. Service always with a smile and efficient without being intrusive. We paid just over £60 for a three course dinner for two with beers, it was well worth it.

Suggested for a takeaway after some of my family had been to eat there a while ago and raved about it, but as 30 miles from where I live, the opportunity has only just occurred. In the end we ended up getting a takeaway for 12 of us (family and partners) including mixed starters. I had the Massaman curry with slow cooked beef and was absolutely fabulous, the rest of the party has a wide mix of different dishes and everyone had the same opinion about the quality and taste. I wish was nearer to where I live, although my waistline would suffer terribly. Thoroughly recommended, one of the best meals I have had for a while, will certainly be returning.

It from the outside does not look big or even maybe enticing, but once inside there is a lovely feel. Greeted with a smile and manners before being taken through to your table. The staff are very attentive with free water poured all evening. Even though the menu is not vast it has a little of something for everyone and a great taster menu. Once you have received your good wow it is delicious and different to your normal Indian restaurant with very different flavours and ideas. A must recommend.
