Iâm a Brit abroad on business. Iâve spent a week in Gaithersburg and had a meal out each night and they were all good. I went to the Green Elephant and I thought the food was exceptional, best Iâve had in the US so far. Ambience was great too. Why the 4 ratings then? Well the food deserves some equally great wines and they struggled with their white wines, they really did their best and were super helpful but Iâve never tasted such a sweet Pinot Grigio, in fact I didnât know they existed, or what was sold as a dry Riesling. Maybe Itâs local tastes, I had a Riesling in Surf too and that wasnât dry and thatâs a missed opportunity in a fish restaurant. Still all round a fabulous restaurant and shouldnât be missed if you are in Portsmouth NH. Thank you so much for visiting! Our wines rotate so maybe weâll have something more to your liking on your next visit. Thank you for your positive review and feedback.Cheers!Pete Whitehead

We had heard good things about 5 Thai and finally went with friends. The place was really busy as we expected. We tried and shared a number of things on the menu and all were fine, but nothing was at all memorable. I rated it average because we couldnât remember what we ate afterward except for some potstickers. Nothing seemed unusually good. The restaurantâs ambiance also was average in our estimation. We wouldnât go out of oirvwa6 yo return.

We weren't sure what to expect of a noodle place in a small town, but we were pleasantly surprised! It's a small place with a few tables around a bar, but nicely decorated and nicely served. The ramen was interesting and original, definitely an original take, not your typical tonkotsu. It can be difficult to find parking, but here is a big private lot nearby.

It was moderately busy when we arrived after 1:00 PM. We were greeted and seated immediately. This décor in this new restaurant was very nice. There were several oriental statues in the entryway. In the main dining room, there were two rows of high-back booths with red leatherette upholstery. The tables had a black finish. There were several tables for four with chairs. There was an illuminated oriental statue on the back wall. The hibachi area was in a separate room. We did not go in there. We chose seating in a booth in the main dining room near the bar. Our waiter stopped by for our beverage orders within two minutes after we were seated. The drinks arrived about two minutes later. From the Solo Hibachi Lunch section of the Moko Hibachi Menu, I ordered the Shrimp at â¯$11.95. It came with a choice of Fried Rice and either Green Salad or Clear Soup. I took the salad. It was about a 10-minute wait for the salad. Although very simple with only Iceberg lettuce, one grape tomato, and a cucumber slice, the salad was fresh, ice-cold, crisp, and crunchy. The Thousand Island-type dressing was very good. The entrée had about a cup of the rice which was lightly fried, six medium-sized shrimp, and about a cup of mixed vegetables that included mostly thin zucchini strips, plus broccoli florets, carrots, and onions. Portions more than ample. I was able to eat only half of everything on the plate. My friend had the Sashimi Lunchâ¯â¯at â¯$14.95. That came with a choice of Miso Soup or Green Salad. He took the soup. The soup arrived in abut 5 minutes. The entrée had a dozen pieces of sashimi over ice in a bowl and was accompanied by a side of rice. The sashimi was very fresh.Everything was well-prepared and tasty. We really enjoyed our meals. Service was very good. Our overall rating is a 4.50. We would eat here again. This restaurant is great for anytime dining whether it's for lunch or dinner. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.
Good food, prices, and portions. So-so atmosphere, more of a place for take-out. There's a good-sized menu, and service is efficient. Good, but average Asian food you can get anywhere.
