We arrived having pre-booked a booked table into a noisy, chaotic pub. Ordered drinks, gin and tonic was served in a Fosters Half Pint glass! Next we were shown a table in the chaotic public bar having booked a table to eat we pointed this out and voiced that weâd rather eat in the restaurant as booked and agreed to have our drink in the bar whilst waiting for a table. In the end the wait was not long at all. After these faux pas the actual food and service were great, the curry excellent. As this what we came for weâd be happy to recommend with a caveat to expect it to be a noisy busy pub.

Really good takeaway food, the best we have had for a long time. Free poppadoms and sauces, a spicy lamb jalfrezi and a delicious house special masala with chicken and minced lamb, light and not greasy pilau rice, friendly staff. Perfect. We travel around the uk and always search for a good takeaway, this is one of the best yet.

2 of us visited for lunch on Monday. As we walked in, we were warmly greeted & looked after superbly throughout. Prices are exceptionally reasonable for both food & drinks. The food was absolutely delicious - every dish we sampled was faultless: sesame prawn toast, salt & pepper squid, grilled dumplings to start; followed by noodles with wonderful crunchy vegetables & stir fried beef with ginger & spring onion for main courses. This little restaurant is a MUST for anyone loving Asian food - highly recommended! We canât wait to visit again soon.

We dropped in as the place was really busy and it was a Wednesday evening, fortunately we managed to get a table, usual beer selections plus a Nepalese beer all nice to wash down the obligatory poppadoms etc. The main man was a character and full of joy, with a good sense of humour, good advice on choices, and pleasant to deal with, this makes a real difference in these places. Will definitely go back next time in Newbury

Sadly the staff seemed very disinterested in us. Not real interest and almost as though we were interfering with them doing other things. Food unremarkable and other local restaurants do it, in my opinion better. I am just sad. My king prawn curry was ok but smothered by the taste of coconut. One last tip - the Indian Sauvignon Blanc is well worth giving a miss.

Wau in Newbury is a relaxed, friendly and fun place for people to enjoy freshly prepared Malaysian food cooked in the open kitchen.
Always busy but they squeezed us in for dinner. Good choice of food and generous portions, will definitely be going back.

We were Visiting Newbury and saw the good reviews on TripAdvisor. We weren't disappointed we both chose noodle soups from a good selection on the menu. Lots of tea to choose from too, we had Jasmine. We shared an excellent pudding to finish. The service was exceedingly friendly. Although we don't live in Newbury we plan to visit again in the summer to sit outside next the canal.

fine dinning Thai restaurant and takeaway
Small restaurant in town centre providing friendly service and good food. Portions little small but good value as not overly expensive. Favourite dish was the chicken massaman. Very tasty. Not so keen on the Phad Thai. Little sloppy for my liking.

Just got back from the most fantastic meal at Sushi Maki. Wonderful food and superb service - strongly recommended. We enjoyed a platter for two people which was sublime and then two temaki rolls, one crispy prawns one crispy crab - both amazing! A must visit and we will definitely be back. Thank you!
