Ttowa specializes in Korean dumplings, complimented by homemade dipping sauces. Weâre a family owned restaurant with over 14 years in the restaurant business. Weâre the previous owners of Ttowa Dumpling House in Morton Grove, IL. Come visit our *new* loca
Just moved into the area. Happy to see a Korean restaurant option in my neighborhood. Service is attentive and informal. Definitely feel like we were guests vs. patrons. Make reservations if you plan on dining here on a Fri or Sat night. Chef will adjust the "heat" to your dish if you see an entree you'd like to try but you're concerned it will be too spicy. Apps were as good as the entrees. Good portions. Unusual dishes, all very flavorful. They'll plate your table up to share dishes or have your own entree if you'd prefer. This restaurant has moderately priced asian fusion dishes but some might consider it pricey for this cuisine. Still cheaper than a steak joint and a whole lot more eclectic. A fun place, change of pace for sure. The menu options are just adventurous enough that I have to warn readers that this is not your normal asian takeout. Be prepared for new flavors, recipes and condiments you wouldn't normally see at your table. This may not be for you if you're a meat & potatoes, American cuisine mid-westerner who doesn't normally like to try new things.Fit for foodies I suppose. In downtown Arlington Heights, close to the train so city patrons could easily dine here. No need for a car

Quick service Japanese restaurant and sushi cafe.
Tensuke has expanded their Daiso department AND lowered the prices.Everything is now $2 and there's a much larger selection.Daiso is an international chain of 100-yen stores, specializing in housewares, fashion accessories and stationery items. In Israel they are 10-shekel stores; in Canada they are CAD $2 stores; in Cambodia they are 7600-riel stores (about $1.90 in US dollars); etc.I am very excited to share the news of Tensuke's expanded Daiso inventory and lower prices.

The Pad Thai Restaurant was actually our second choice, as our first choice had not yet opened for dinner, so we thought that rather than sushi, we would go with Thai cuisine. Pad Thai Restaurant is located on the northwest corner of Oakton & Elmhurst Rd. in a medium-sized mall. There is plenty of parking. The only issue, right now, is the traffic which is a bit messed up from the construction at the intersection and south over the bridge of the tollway. Once in the restaurant, it is a nice Thai oasis and nicely decorated. We ordered the appetizer sampler and we also ordered one entree. That was more than enough to eat. Everything was very light. The appetizers, which consisted of some tempura shrimp & vegetables, crab Rangoon, Thai potstickers and Thai crispy vegetable rolls, were really good. The entree, wun sen pad thai, which was stir fried clear noodles with chicken, shrimp, cabbage, egg, bean sprouts, green onions and crushed peanuts in a tamarind sauce, was very good. Our server, Louise, was very attentive and friendly. The prices are reasonable.

My daughter and I were watching public TV and happen to see the program Open Table where average people share experiences at various restaurants. Izakaya Sankyu was the restaurant that was being highlighted that afternoon. Everyone on the show who ate their raved about the variety of items and the freshness. The next night we decided to try it. What a treat.Izakaya Sankyu is in an unassuming small strip mall. Two types of seating are available....on chairs or on pillows on the floor with low tables. At my age, we ate on chairs at a regular table. The menu was quite extensive and included sushi, tempera, sashimi platters, soba and udon noodle soups, and so much more. Australia has good sushi, but this topped what I've had there. It was also a treat watching what everyone else was ordering. Many were ordering in their native language of Japanese. Can't wait to go back.

We decided to have dinner at the Kampai Japanese Steak House, but sat in the floating sushi bar which is also known as The YuYa. We were seated immediately. There was a steady stream of delicious looking sushi coming around on the boats. We ordered two hot shrimp dishes to start and then chose two additional sushi plates from the boats. The plates for the sushi are color-coded and the prices are shown in front of each seat. We had more than enough food for both of us at a very reasonable price. The staff is always friendly, efficient and attentive. There is plenty of parking.

Located in a small mall on the northeast corner of Northwest Highway and Mt. Prospect Rd., there is plenty of parking for the House of Szechwan. From the time that you walk between the lions at the front door, you will feel like you are in a Chinatown restaurant. The interior is nicely decorated with a lot of red which in the Chinese culture symbolizes luck, happiness and joy. The staff was very friendly and our Latina waitress was efficient and personable, and seemed to enjoy interacting with our grandkids. There were five of us, and that included two 4 year olds and one 2 year old. We immediately ordered three orders of potstickers for the kids and believe me, we were quite surprised as to how big each of those potstickers was. Not only were they big, but they tasted really, really good. Next time, I'm going to order crab Rangoon just to see if those taste that good, too. We ordered a pork fried rice and a chicken fried rice. With a couple of extra plates and tea cups, we were able to spread the food and soups around. The egg drop soup was delicious, at least for the one spoonful that I got, since my grandson ended up liking it so much that I never got another try. Both fried rices were very tasty and were huge portions. House of Szechwan is very clean and well-kept, including the restrooms. The prices were quite reasonable for the amount of food that you receive.

Never a bad meal. We've had take out from there for lunch many many times. I've taken friends there for lunch and for dinner, always spot on. Delicious~ Only issue is the TINY parking lot. Get there early or you will have to wait for parking space to open.

We loved our meal at AltThai. We ordered all classic Thai items that really stood out...Pad Tai, Spring Rolls and Chicken Satay. Everything was bursting with flavor. The service was friendly and fast.

Ramen Misoya: A small Japanese kitchen in a dilapidated shopping center in the greater Chicagoland area. Good thing I don't judge a restaurant by its neighborhood! I first discovered this place via a coworker (and best friend) who came out here for training. He mentioned that Ramen Misoya was the best ramen he'd had in the States. Eager to verify his claims, I gave it a try.EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS!Takoyaki is on point. The "Ise Miso Ramen" was my favorite of the menu ramen, and they have a curry fried chicken ramen that is to die for, but it's not always available. My wife and I life in Maryland; after she heard how much I was talking about this place, she flew out to Chicago to try it (Seriously.). She loved it.Long story short: They have a location in Downtown Chicago as well as Mount Prospect. Either way, you've gotta give it a try!
