As an Asian, I was thrilled to stumble upon this restaurant. Ordered Tom Yum soup and Thai basil chicken rice. They were ok. However, I wanted some small chilies to make the food spicier but there werenât any. The Thai basil chicken was tasty. The soup slightly too salty.

Reviews (most) sounded great??? First, on 2nd floor walkup. Not mentioned on website. Recovering from broken knee. Then, waitress's cellphone audibly ringing in her pocket and I had to have her repeat an answer. We ordered Vegetable Tempura appetizer, one of my favorites. Not a tempura batter. Poor tasting, greasy, crinkled up. Lousy. Left most of it on plate. My friend ordered a Fried Tofu with Veggies. Asked for veggies to be soft. Veggies were hard, tofu sauteed, not fried. 10 minutes later (!) my dish came, a Mushroom Egg Foo Yung. Horrible coating. Really lousy tasting, Left lot on plate. I told waitress, whose cell went off again. I said, "Oh, not again". She shut it off. I asked if this was the usual cook. She said "yes." Our experience left a lasting horrible taste in our mouths. We will NEVER be back.

Just moved to the area and have a son who LOVES Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Visited twice to dine, and was treated so abruptly, that it seriously had me questioning the entire establishment and their motivations. The first time I let it slide and chalked it up to maybe the server having a bad day. But the second time we went on a Thursday night during a Patriots game, and the service was borderline hostile. The restaurant published hours of operation until 10pm, yet at 9:30, they abruptly turned the TVs off with no communication. It wasn't even halftime of the game, in the heart of Patriots country, and the server rudely turned the TVs off, and had an over aggressive vibe. I was literally forced to gulp a drink I just ordered, which obviously I would not have ordered if they conveyed they were looking to close early. The food was brought out in a hurried manner. The appetizers, sushi, and entrees were served on top of each other, so there were no "courses". It was like we were being rushed out from the moment we sat down. If someone is paying to dine inside an establishment, that should NEVER happen. I would have gladly gone elsewhere if I knew up front their intention was to shut down early for the night. However, that was never communicated to us. Perhaps they only want to do takeout? But that seems weird as they have a huge dining room, and a remodeled lounge area with multiple TVs, which is a rarity in Marblehead. Needless to say, it is not worth dining in a place that doesn't appreciate paying customers, or gets over-aggressive to close early for no apparent reason. I encourage anyone looking for a family sit down meal, to look elsewhere.

When travelling, especially for extended periods, for are looking for something a little lighter on the digestion, if you know what I mean.Well the New England Soup Factory in Salem is perfect. It offers a range of lunch items but the house specialty is its award winning soups. And they are wonderful! I had the clam chowder with corn and my companion had the chicken and vegetable with noodles - both were excellent. The young lady serving was extremely courteous and helpful and more than willing to offer tastings of the various goods to first timers. It was a wonderful, light but tasty lunch. We highly recommend this property.

Soall Bistro is a friendly, neighborhood eatery serving healthy, home cooked Vietnamese food. We offer traditional staples like Pho, Rice, Rice noodles and Banh Mi (Vietnamese baguette).
Because Soall is probably the only two joints in Marblehead (not counting Chinese Japanese restaurants), that serve South Asian cuisine, everyone seems to be a little bit forgiving about this restaurant. But the food is mediocre. Several times I have tried to give it a chance but it has never passed muster. Curry Chicken noodle soup at $12.00 is a floating puddle of anemic ingredients that had a taste of nothing like curry. The chef decided to include fingers potatoes, but they were nowhere complimenting the taste. The rice noodle, for goodness sake, was cut like ribbons, as if they run out of it. The shrimp fritters was another reason to nod my head in disappointment. They were not crispy at all and falling apart. My husband says they are catering to the American palate, but other restaurants with a similar aim do better. Soall should do a better job.

Being somewhat selfish, I'm loathe to let you in on the place for the best sushi on the North Shore. Junji is a small, pleasant and unpretentious dining venue -- so, it can get crowded fast, especially on a Friday night -- and, as regulars, we love to get in fast when that sushi craving hits. With the best spicy tuna handrolls around -- due to wonderfully fresh nori, among other qualities -- this Japanese cuisine is a definite "find" for anyone with a predilection for sushi or other Japanese delicacies. The tempura sweet potato fries, soba noodles, and oyakudon (a wonderful comfort food of stewed chicken, onion and rice, "off" the menu) are worthy of any I've sampled in or outside of Japan. Try authentic genmaicha (green tea with toasted rice) for a beverage.Come for rare Jazz ensembles, featuring the dulcet voice of one of the owners, on special Fridays....
