The Qin Guan is more than just a Chinese Buffet. The dishes are hot, quick, and so good that nothing is ever on the line too long. Also the sushi station makes for a great addition to the traditional buffet style. I love trying their new sushi and most of all you only have to try one piece.

We were just passing through Carbondale and spotted Yamato. We were greeted by a nice young man who turned out to be our waiter. We were very impressed with his attention to detail. I have a rare medical condition called Sphincter of Oddi Dysfunction. Because of it I am limited to 25 grams of fat a day. So no oil, butter, salad dressing and so on. He suggested that they make me chicken and shrimp with all vegetables and teriyaki sauce. He also checked to make sure the soup did not have oil even though he was pretty sure it did not. Then he mother came out and asked me questions to make sure that they were understanding this correctly. Our food was delicious and our service was beyond superb. Hats off to 16 year old Daniel for being a fantastic waiter and teenager! We will go back the next time we are in Southern Illinois. Oh, and the prices were very reasonable.

Iâve been to many Japanese hibachi steakhouses, but none quite like this place. By far the most original and entertaining chef performance Iâve seen. Itâs the only time Iâve seen a tableside audience of seniors, adults, teens, and little kids all genuinely laughing and enjoying the show. Very lively, loud, and impressive. The food? Just ok. The sushi was the best part of the meal. The salad was swimming in a mayonnaise dressing and I could have done without any of the teriyaki sauce that all the hibachi food was drenched in. Portions were enormous and prices were fair. Worth it for the experience.

We are a long standing fast casual Chinese restaurant that has served the Southern Illinois area for 25 years. We offer freshly cooked Chinese and Taiwanese dishes. We offer indoor dining, carryout and delivery service. Thanks for checking out our page!
Everyone I know loves New Kahala. We've been eating there for years, and are almost never disappointed. Prices are good, especially for the large portions. We generally allow 30-45mins to be "safe" for take out, though we may eat-in depending on the beer special. I no longer live in Carbondale, but make sure to get my garlic fix here whenever I'm in town.

Donât live in town but visited this place a couple years ago and really liked it. Circumstances allowed another visit here this trip and I went back. Absolutely love the Pad Thai. Just plain good. Would have loved a few more peanuts but it was outstanding anyway. Also got some egg rolls or spring rolls. They were also outstanding. This is a little jewel in Carbondale.

618-529-1108. Locally owned moderately upscale Chinese restaurant. Good tea smoked duck. Nice atmosphere. Large menu.
Authentic Chinese dishes are on the left side of the menu and Chinese American comprise the majority of the dishes. They can accommodate large parties where they can have their own space or seat 1-2 in the main dining without feeling cramped. Ambience is nice and the owner's personal touch is evident by warm welcome of regular customers. Definitely a gem in Southern Illinois!

What a find! Great atmosphere(indoors and outdoor patio), friendly and welcoming staff, and amazing food. Showed up on "Falafel Friday" and it did not disappoint. In town visiting our son, and loved it so much, went back Sunday for breakfast (and we aren't even vegetarians, so don't let that fool you from getting a hearty meal). The portions are large. So wonderfully fresh (from the farm) and don't miss the desserts. YUM! After your meal, pop two doors down to the market.
