We ordered a meal for 10 which was delivered promptly to a local village. The food was lovely and what we really liked was that they gave us a call 5 minutes after delivery to check that we had received everything we ordered. Everything was perfect. Thanks

The naans and bombay aloo were good and saved the day. The coke was flat, despite asking them to change. Most other curries, including palak paneer were far too sweet and creamy. The owner was friendly and Value for money. Not authentic indian if that's what you are looking for.

Ok...so thanks for reading my review. I've tried quite a lot of Chinese take-aways in the Forest of Dean and I can honestly say this is the very best. The food is superbly cooked, authentic with very generous portions. As a family we have 2 vegetarians and 3 meat eaters, all were extremely happy with their choices (on several occasions). The food is cooked and served to a high standard, always piping hot and served using quality ingredients.Lastly very reasonably priced, as the portions are huge and rice etc. can be shared. Great front of house staff and a joy to visit.

We were staying in the local area and found a menu for Goldern Phoenix at the place where we were stayingI phoned my order through but there was a times some confusion with their numbers and what dishes matched what. Maybe it was my accent that confused them.Anyway we brought our dishes backThe king prawn fried rice... had a burnt taste to it according to my sister. The other fried rice dishes seemed OK to those who had them. The sweet and sour chicken was OK but not great. We also got a dish we didn't orderBut the most "interesting" dish was what we thought might be duck in plum sauce. The sauce was very pale in colour sorted smelled like a plum come sweet and sour sauce and then in the sauce was oblong objects which I think were duck coated in some strange coating.. Which I think they forgot to deep fry.. not a pleasant taste at all. They say a good sign of how well a place is, is by how busy it is. This place was dead when we wentA disappointing experience to say the least. Will be trying other Chinese places in the area next time.
