Kind of stark inside, one big party table in house, i sat at one of two seats at sushi bar.Expensive rolls seem to be the norm here in this franchised place.Had a roll and tuna nigiri along with small sake and Sapporo. Wasabi with sushi was hard to get mixed into soy sauce. Nothing bad and roll was above average.Menu has lapses as they picture rolls with no description or price. Also lump crabtini no longer available.Sushi bar chefs nice, my server kind of distant and not so approachable.May visit again but they have a long way to go to move up my list of sushi joints.Hope they do.

The food was very good, but there's a few downsides. I understand the building is older but some tables didn't look clean. I think in general, a little investment in better lighting would also help. They charge for water at $1 per glass which seems steep to me and I wish I saw that on the menu. Service, while friendly was generally inattentive. Again, the food was awesome but the service, water pricing, and cleanliness were all generally below par for me. To put it in perspective, a water and an order of Pad Thai for dinner came in just under $20 after a modest tip.

Sushi is good but not melt in your mouth. Not offered the warm washcloth this time :( Food is ok at best. Servers are slow to great you when you walk in the door. The guys at the sushi counter were always the ones to yell hello when you come in. That doesn't happen anymore. You stand by door for a good 5 minutes till someone comes by. The servers are slow but smiled I appreciate you dining with us again. It sounds like our service wasn't up to your expectations this time around. We're happy to have you here, and we'll work as a team to better show it through our greetings and giving you the attention you deserve. We hope you return soon to experience this improvement in person.Thank you, Fen Lu Manager
We passed by Fuji a few times before stopping in but now we wonder why- it is very good! The building on the outside is not much different from the former incarnation but inside is very clean and attractive. We went for an early dinner and there was only one table seated besides us. The waitress was friendly and very helpful. My husband decided to try the sushi and I had a chicken and shrimp hibachi dinner. The hibachi dinner had a flavor I cant place that made it different from what I have had in the past, but it was very good. You get a nice sized portion and it comes with a soup and salad. My husband had sushi and gyoza. He was very pleased with the gyoza, and I tried it and found it very flavorful. His sushi was good but he said he might try something else next time. We ordered some teriyaki to go to have later and I enjoyed it more than the hibachi. It came with a california roll and a spring roll along with the rice. Yum! Decent prices, nice portions, good atmosphere and good food. We will be back!

A couple of weeks ago we thought we would try On A Roll in Long Beach. It was a nice Saturday night and we were under the impression that they had live music on Saturdays. We sat outside in the nice weather, and were then told they had no music that night. The server told us that their calamari was touted as being some of the best on the coast. Unfortunately when it came it was very much over-cooked and had virtually no taste. Each couple ordered a couple of sushi rolls, and in general they were very average at best. The best thing about the experience was being able to sit outside and enjoy that aspect. The food wasn't bad, it was just uninspiring. As compared to some other local Sushi places, such as the one in the Pass, this restaurant would not be high on our list.

Visit frequently because family lives in the area. Workers/owners always friendly and greet you when you come in. Food is always hot and fresh. Interior decor is somewhat dated but don't let that deter you- great food here. Also can get take out in a container you fix yourself. We love this place!!
Myself and two children left I-10 to visit Basils Cafe. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated. We ordered the summer rolls the spring rolls and the fried dumplings. The summer rolls were excellent. We had a p2 Pho and shrimp fried rice. The appetizers range from 5 to $7 and the entrees from 8 to $15. It was more expensive for Vietnamese than we are used to paying, however it was truly a treat and delicious. As we were there a large group came in and the restaurant quickly filled to Max Capacity. They were somewhat understaffed and a service slowed. That is the only reason for the four stars. We will definitely return if we are in the area again.

I absolutely love Long Beach Market and Deli! I love the atmosphere, huge variety of beers and healthy food options as well. I typically order one of the summer rolls which I am always pleased with. My kids age 13 and 5 both enjoy their food as well. They typically get chicken fried rice, a cheeseburger or the kids shrimp. My husband, not a healthy eater ;), orders their hamburgers and also catfish dinner which he enjoys. All around great casual family friendly place!
