Kite surfers, paragliders and deep-sea fishermen flock to windswept La Morne, a small village on the southwest side of Mauritius. Le Morne Brabant Mountain, a dramatic basaltic rock peak dotted with caves that once harbored runaway slaves, presides over luxury resorts and a wide beach widely regarded as the best on the island. Throw in a shimmering turquoise lagoon and gorgeous sunsets and calling the town "paradise" doesn't seem like a cliché.

Ate here last night with my family. Now booking restaurant reservations here at The Heritage is very strange. You are told places are fully booked, but when you walk past they are empty! Not sure what that is all about, but needs addressing!! Anyway our booking here was no exception as we were told we could only have a table at 9pm. We decided to go for pre-dinner drinks at 7pm in a nearby bar. We kept an eye on the restaurant and yep...almost empty. So by 8pm, being ready to chew our arms off we asked if we could eat earlier....absolutely no problem they said (roll eyes and bite tongue). That aside we were warmly greeted and the restaurant was tastefully decorated. We were given complimentary onion bahji, poppodums and dips which were very âmoreishâ. They kindly gave us more as we were like a plague of locusts going through them. Mains we ordered 2 chicken dishes, a beef and lamb chops. All were absolutely delicious. We couldnât fault it at all. Our only disappointment was the wine menu. Very expensive for wines we were not familiar with in comparison to other restaurants in the resort. We stuck with our gin. Highly recommend this restaurant. Great staff, nice atmosphere and scrummy food. Challenge the booking time if you see it empty!!!

Situated in the heart of the village of Chamarel with its typical atmosphere and its waterspout gushing with water, and some minutes from the seven Colored Earth, the new restaurant is well known for its food and services. The Chef offers you the know-how
Accidently discovered this restaurant while coming back from Chamarel. The 'thali' served here is simply amazing.. even the plain old dal was delicious. We didn't had any driver as we drove a car to this place.. and we were pleasently suprised that we were offered 40% discount! Sans the discount, this place is costly.

The Gin'ja Restaurant at the Heritage Le Telfair Golf & Spa Resort offers a culinary escape to the heart of Asia while keeping your feet in the warm sand of Mauritius. The flavourful, spicy and colourful cuisine of the Gin'ja at the Heritage Le Telfair Go
The food in this restaurant is the best I have eaten for an Asian hotel restaurant anywhere in the world, and I'm up to 35 countries so feel qualified to say that! When you ask for a platter because you can't decide what you want then you will be blown away!

Great food from the green food truck at Mon Choisy beach! For all tourists: a great place to eat - no worries for post dinner/ lunch 'after stress' all fresh and clean! When eating on the beach the servant will take your order - place a table for you on the beach and serves you your food within a very reasonable time! Try the chicken masala - best ever!! Payment only after a satisfying meal - you can take your time - there is no rush with these guys. Best Mauritian food I had!
All together nourishing, Atsuko, unites a relaxing, contemporary environment with healthy, inspired Japanese cuisine. The nourishing offerings are prepared in the live kitchen, with an unprecedented attention to detail. Specialty cocktails, like the Yamaz
Restaurant with an excellent raw material which is well prepared. Today I learned that the name of the restaurant âAtsukoâ means âfeelings of calm, serenity and warmthâ. It is a pitty that this evening I didnât find them during the dinner. Three issues to clearly improve are: 1)It is a noisy restaurant. With a different design of the space, the noisy will be reduced; 2) Three tables (of seven) asked the waiters if they may order, after having waited too much time (in my case around 15 minutes); 3)The smell of the kichen flows through the restaurant, specially to the tables located near it. At the end of the dinner I wanted to leave it quick and jump into my room asap. One restaurant located in a hotel as St. Regis is expected to ofer a premium experience. It was not the case in this dinner.

Chef Suksan is a delight; his flavours are delicate and beautifully balanced; in a flash you're transported across the Indian Ocean to Thailand and it's mesmerising tastes and fragrances. Chef is also not afraid to come to the tables to meet his diners too; a genuine Bangkok gentleman with the sort of humble background that brings the best out of ingredients. The Tom Kha Ghai was the best I've had out of Thailand, if not the best I've ever had. Fish and Shellfish from the menu were never overcooked, and the deep fried coconut ice cream and its liquid nitrogen bath a novelty. You want hot? Don't be shy to ask. Chef knows his was way around birds eye chillies too and gets the most from their piquant flavour as well as their searing heat.East is in an absolutely fabulous location right on the shore facing towards heavenly sunsets, and Rodee, our waiter on the 4 occasions we dined there a star who shone as brightly as the food itself.Five star food and service.

Well based on the other TA reviews we thought of giving it a go. After dining here I donât understand what other reviewers are raving about. Had couple of starters n mains and were left sorely disappointed by underwhelming lamb. In the lamb, tried both the burrah n Rogan josh. The meat itself wasnât tender to start with, followed by lack of flavours n taste. On the other hand, the chicken tikka was good and the butter chicken was decent, but defintely not out of the world or the best ever as few others reviews have described. Overall, a disappointing meal, the only saving grave being the service and the chef coming up for a quick chat to get feedback and explain. IMHO, rating for food is 2/5. Service 4/5. Even though the chef said he will cook something special for our next meal but I doubt if i would be returning again.

The food here is amazing. Had the seafood soup and the crab soup to start, both were fantastic. My wife and I shared the mixed seafood grill in creole sauce, and it blew our minds. Seriously, so good. As others have said, itâs only one (very sweet) woman serving the tables, so it can take a little while to get your order. If youâre in a hurry, maybe not the place for you. But if youâre relaxing on holiday, donât miss out on some of the best food on the island.

THE SPLENDOUR OF ASIAN FUSION CUISINE AT DINAROBIN Taking its name from Japanese, umami, which means âpleasant, savoury tasteâ, is part of the five established basic tastes. Nestling among palm and coconut trees at the edge of the main swimming pool, Umam
Pleasantly surprised after reading some of the negative reviews. The food was exceptional. We opted for the 6 course menu and we all loved the variety Along with the different flavors of each dish. We had one upset and that was a young child listening to kiddies programmed rather loudly on an I pod whilst he parents did nothing. However we brought it to the waiters attention and he swiftly solved the problem by asking the parents to please turn it down. I wouldnât say kids were suited to this restaurant in all honesty. Nevertheless a great evening was had.
