For a Filipino living in a small Midwestern town, a trip to a Max's Restaurant is a treat. I think the nostalgia helps to make the food taste good. Sure there are other Filipino restaurants that serve better Filipino food but eating at a Max's brings back childhood memories as well. I was here with family I hadn't seen in many, many years. So it seemed the perfect place for a mini-reunion. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant - clean and inviting. Overall, I would recommend it and if you are in for more nostalgia, this Max's is located in Puente Hills Mall's Pinoy alley. There are 3 more Filipino restaurants adjacent to it.
More like a 3.5, I'd say. Coming to Taiwanese beerhalls is a fun experience. And our group definitely had fun @ Jurassic. I'd say the food was good without being great and the staff was quite nice! The restaurant itself is in a very very sketchy shopping center, right next to a gun shop, a few doors down from a massage place, a "gentlemen's club", a crappy Karaoke Bar and lots of other interesting, seedy little places. The restaurant needs a bit of upkeep. I am not expecting it to be shiny whatsoever, but a bit more cleanliness would go along way. It just seems a bit tired in there, and the outfits of the waitresses were kind of blah and tired too. Indian restaurant in San Gabriel is a better go-to choice for the Taiwanese beerhall style...although if you can't make it there, Jurassic will suffice...

We stumbled on this place when we were visiting our daughter. The food came out super fast and it was delicious! We ordered pork dumplings, house chicken, shredded pork with Peking sauce, garlic fried shrimp and Peking spring onion pancakes. It was all very fresh and tasty. The house chicken was definitely different-served cold with a sauce and cucumbers. We loved all the dishes. And not your run of the mill Chinese food. We very much recommend this place.

I should begin by saying that all personnel were courteous and friendly. I don't think the price is worth the food and the "show" performed by the cook. The food and serving size were average. The food comes in stages as it is cooked in front of customer. If you don't mind eating as food is placed on your plate then you will do ok. If you don't mind eating your food lukewarm then can wait for the dish to be completely served. I will give this restaurant a "fine dining" score because it is about $60 per person and that is with no alcoholic drinks and no dessert. It is family and wheelchair friendly. I must add that it is located at the very entrance of Sam's Club and parking near the restaurant may be difficult.

We have been going to Kingswood for over 15 yrs. Our family really enjoys their food. Teppan style is a treat for us. I love their shrimp and fried rice. My daughter Gigi loves their udon and chicken terayaki. The prices are reasonable but most important the food is fresh and delicioust! Very friendly and attentive staff and cheff William is the best! If you are on a budget you can go for lunch which is a little cheaper.

Food taste good but some of the ingredients could have been better. For example my clam never opened up which means it's bad. For 11.99 you get your own pot already did loaded up for you. It's cooked by alcohol bricks that's pretty long lasting, at least 25min which was impressive. Could use higher quality ingredients though.

You would never imagine valet parking in this strip mall in this part of town, but when you enter the restaurant you are transported to a completely different place! The restaurant is quite clean and modern. The service is a little slow during busy times, so I try to go between lunch and dinner. The food is amazing! So many different choices of Japanese and Mexican fusion! My favorite is the coconut seafood molcajete! Drinks are great, music is good, and the cooks can be entertaining too! Do not pass up an opportunity to try this place!

Sunday California Champagne Brunch Every Sunday from 11am-2pm, treat yourself to the San Gabriel Valley's best Champagne Brunch featuring a live Pianist, a starter glass of champagne or a mimosa, scrumptious Dim Sum, Mongolian Beef, Kung Pao, Omelets and
Sunday Brunch runs from 11:00 to 2:00 and contains a huge array of food for every appetite. Not too pricey at $36.95 for what you get. The waitress starts you off with a juice, coffee and Champagne. Then make you way to your favorite type of food or as I did, all of them. There is an omelet table with dim sum next to it. Then proceed to the fresh fruits and American breakfast items. You might like the Salmon, shelled shrimp, or Alaskan crab legs. There is also a Chinese food selection and many types of Sushi. There is a pasta table where you can have your favorite type of pasta made. For the hearty eater go to the carving table for Korean ribs, Chinese roasted pig or yummy Filet Mignon. The dessert table has pre-made smoothies, a chocolate fountain, a crepe chef and an amazing array of desserts. You can't go wrong here. Excellent food and attentive servers.

My husband and I, we heard about this restaurant so we decided to try it out. This is a stand alone restaurant that located in an industrial area of Hacienda Heights. Small place with limited parking, however, it does have street parking. Expect line is long at lunch. We finally got a table after 30' wait. Menu has pictures of each type of soup. We ordered Chicken wings for appetizer, it's too oily and tasteless. Beside that, I tried # 17 (Nanchatte Tonkotsu ramen, very popular here), my husband got Ten-Shin Ramen (crab omelet noodle soup). My ramen soup tastes ok, just a bit creamy for me. My hubby ramen soup has very thick sauce, mostly corn starch. None of us could finished our soup. Service is fast. Every bill was circle on tips suggested area. LOL. We'll stick with Shin-Sen-Gumi Hakata.

Like all the Yelpers say, Akasaka Sushi Restaurant has a legendary chirashi bowl that competes with, and sometimes better than those you can find in Japan. I've had some of the freshest fish and chirashi bowls at tsukiji market in Tokyo, and have to say that Akasaka makes a mean chirashi bowl that rivals the best chirashi bowls in the world. The freshness and presentation, along with the variety of raw seafood make this bowl one of the best I've ever had. While the quantity of sashimi and sushi is often never enough at most Japanese restaurants, $45 here will definitely leave you satisfied.
