Kodaikanal has an endangered animal called the grizzled giant squirrel. To us, that alone is reason to book a trip ("grizzled giant squirrel" might be the best animal name ever). Perched on the woodsy southern crest of the Palani Hills, nearly 7,000 feet above sea level, this popular lakeside resort town is a magnet for nature lovers. Wander the peaceful slopes, keeping an eye out for birds, exotic flowers and, of course, grizzled giant squirrels.

This hotel offers a mix of dining options and we chose to have lunch at the Vegetarian outlet. Well, the place is a mix of overcrowding, ill maintained and rude service besides an average fare on offer in the menu. Taste-wise also this was only a just pass!!!!!!! Not a very delectable experience, indeed!!!!!!!

On 13th sep, 2018 I had visited this place with my kids for dinner. We had ordered for hot & sour chicken soup, chicken fried rice and chicken chilly along with hakka noddles. The soup was filled with egg and maybe 5 shredded pieces of chicken. The fried rice was very much dry. Chilly chicken has to have the colour of soya sauce, but it was schezwan colour (orange) and the quantity off capsicum & onion was much more than the chicken. I felt it was a wrong place to enjoy chinese food.Dear Guest,Greetings from The Hamuse Hotel, Kodaikanal!!Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am greatly perturbed on noting the same. Please accept my sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused. Your feedback has been shared with our Chef and his team for immediate corrective action..While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. Nia's Garden is the best restaurant in Kodaikanal, located in a private garden near the lake and village, in this misty hill-station of Tamil Nadu, India. We offer exclusive home-made meals in a natural environment, surrounded by the mountains, lakes and
The service is always gracious, the food was super delicious and thus the experience warrants follow-up visits!.. Rich variety of salad and main dishes and sweets; Most importantly, I want to express how wonderful the staffs were. They were extremely courteous, very efficient and all in all made our dining experience a great one!

Tried tibetan bread, mixed veg gravy, veg noodle soup ( thukpa), veg fried wanton. Food is ok in taste, amount and price. Thukpa was good. Owner lady was impolite. Rather than veg she served nonveg fried wanton which was with lots of fried cabbage. We didnt suspect any such blunder and ate half the amount then realized the filling inside is not vegetable. When we complained rather than accepting her mistake she was arguing for not realizing it earlier as if it was our mistake. Although she didnt charge for that dish later. Being vegetarians, the uneasy feeling of eating meat disturbed us whole day.

This restaurant is quite a small place but it serves good food. Tried their chicken biryani, parotta, chicken curry - all were good. The service is a little hectic because the waiter would keep on insisting you for some things and you won't like that. But the food is good,so give it 1 try.

The Restaurant is good for South Indian cuisine. Its somewhere between affordable and little expensive. Food served here is great especially Sambhar was good. Idly was fluffy. Tea and Coffee served was also mouth-watering.The restaurant has a good ambience, it is spacious, well lit and with quality furniture. There are also nearby shops from the same chain (Hilltop) whom offer Chicken, Ice Cream, Fast Food, etc. I recommend this place.

This restaurant is probably offering the best Vegetarian food, in Kodaikanal town. The restaurant is located in a congested place and there is not much parking space available near the hotel. The restaurant has multiple levels. We had visited the restaurant for dinner, which was quiet crowded. We were lucky to get a table on the first floor. The service, from taking the order to serving the food was quiet prompt. The food was tasty and in sufficient quantity, which justified the price. Our experience at the restaurant was better than expected

We ordered paneer paratha pav bhaji Lassi and lime soda. All were too good. The person who took our order was the owner of the restaurant. The restaurant is pretty small and don't go by the size of it. It's really good in taste. Reasonably priced for a tourist hill station.
