The new legendary Chinese restaurant in Kidderminster town centre. We provide the legendary Chinese food, legendary Chinese service. China Legend is open now. Please you are welcome.
Although we went on a Groupon because of the great reviews we were expecting something special. The place itself is a bit like a factory canteen with plastic tablecloths, quite uninspiring with high ceilings with large polystyrene looking tiles, the whole place was quite echoey. The food is very inexpensive therefore lacks quality the most expensive main being £6.80. We both had sweetcorn and prawn soup which probably had one prawn cut up in each bowl, the mixed starters were extremely greasy and overcooked especially the battered chicken wing. My friend had chicken and mushroom stir fry which had an overpowering taste of garlic, my chicken curry was quite tasty except for the chicken which had been boiled and had a horrid after taste. The portions though were very generous and staff friendly and helpful. The bowls that were bought were really cold and we had to ask for them to be warmed and the salt and pepper which we asked for were extremely sticky and greasy to hold and definitely need to be cleaned. We would not return but if you want a cheap meal then yes it fulfills your criteria
Was ok value for the money a bit far from Stourport to come weekly a friend of mine said it was one of the best in Kidderminster they had a good variety of different dishes not just tandoori

First time trying this restaurant. Food was brilliant couldn't fault a thing. Lady serving was so helpful and friendly. £14.99 all you can eat well worth every penny. Anything you want off the menu freshly made and brought out. Can't wait to go back again.

14 of us visited the Baan Tai on Friday evening. I had been waiting to take the team here as I would go as far as saying that this was my favourite restaurant at the moment. In my opinion the food was just as good as it has always been but I didn't feel that they were geared up to serve a group of 14 . Service was generally quite slow. There was no confirmation that they had taken all 14 orders and a major mistake was made in not asking if everyone had got their main meal. As they were bringing the food out 2 at a time we sat waiting for the last meal thinking it was just a bit late- in fact they had totally missed it and when we eventually established that, my poor staff member was left sat waiting whilst they cooked it.An 'efficient' apology and no charge for that meal didn't really cut it. We spent a lot of money and in my opinion this spoiled the whole evening.I dont want to blame the 2 waitresses as they worked hard, but perhaps more staff and certainly good systems are required to deal with big parties.

Went in without booking, we struck lucky within 30 minutes the place was packed. Service was great and food really tasty, considering they had two tables with excess of twenty covers each, service was unfussed and very efficient. For starters we had Chicken on Puree which could have done with being served warmer and a Prawn stuffed Pepper, served hot and tasty. For mains a Lamb Naga dish, full of fire and flavour along with a Chicken Tikka Pathia, dishes served with Mushroom Pilau, Coconut and Cashew rice with a portion of Masala Chips. All in all a good eating experience particularly as you are allowed to take your own drinks.

The service in this restaurant is excellent and the staff are friendly. The restaurant has a good ambience and decor. We opted for the Cantonese Feast at £23 per person Barbecued Spare Ribs and Sesame Prawn Toast, the toast was delicious but the ribs did not appear to be served in a barbecued sauce it tasted more like a sweet jam sauce, these starters seemed quite small portions one rib each an one small piece of toast. This was followed by Pork Yuk Sung which was very tasty. The dishes which followed were Stir Fried Beef in garlic and black bean sauce, sweet and sour chicken, and stir fried king prawns with vegetables served in a noodle birds's nest., all of these were well presented and lovely as was the egg fried rice. My only gripe was that compared to other Thai and Chinese restaurants it is about £6 more for two.

We tried this place on a wet Wednesday whilst camping at nearby Woverley. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the restaurant was comfortable and pleasantly decorated. We ordered a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced and very nice, we had starters of chicken pakoras and sheek kebab followed by lamb rogan and chicken pathia with a naan and pilau rice. The currys were really good, tender lamb and succulent chicken in well spiced sauces (probably the best Pathia we've ever had), the rice was light and fluffy and the naan was lovely. We found the starters a little disappointing as the pakora batter was greasy and the kebabs lacked spice but overall the meal was really good and we'll go again when we're next in the area.

I have been to Cafe Masala on a number of occasions in the past and the food and service has always been good; however, our last visit will be our final visit as the actions of the manager were unprofessional and hostile. The restaurant was busy when we arrived on Saturday 28th October but they found us a table, took a drinks order and then returned for the food order. We decided not to have poppadoms but went for starters instead. After 35 minnutes without anything appearing, the staff member who took the order came over and asked if we were still waiting for our starter. We said yes and he disappeared...no apology, no explanation. He never returned to let us know how long it would be so, after a further 10 minutes, we got up to leave. The manager came over and told us (loudly and aggressively) that the food was being prepared and that this was a restuarant and everything was cooked form fresh. I did understand that food was freshly cooked but it doesn't normally take 45 minutes to cook a starter. If they were short-staffed in the kitchen (highly likely), they could have explained, apologised and offered us some poppadoms but they didn't deem that appropriate and generally ignored us.We sat back down and 5 minnutes later a bowl of Raita was placed on the table (not elegantly it has to be said) and then nothing happened. So, 55 minutes after ordering, we decided enough was enough and went to pay for the drinks and leave. That's when the manager really kicked off. He was pointing animatedly at my partner, standing within her personal space and shouting at her and her friend. I suggested they left so I could pay for the drinks and he then started on me. He shouted that I should respect myself and not play with myself in the restaurant. Dear reader, I have to be honest, I really wasn't playing with myself in his restaurant and don't know what he was implying. He shouted at me to get out (always good to be thrown out of a restaurant that you've decided voluntarily to leave) and then stuck his middle finger up at me before doubling it up to give me the V sign. I hadn't been drinking and my partner and friend had consumed only one G&T each all evening. We are well-educated people who were chatting normally and causing no trouble. When we decided that 55 minnutes was too long to wait for a starter, we were verbally abused and initimdated by the manager and I find that unacceptable. Maybe he was having a bad day but, in a service industry, you can't treat customers like that. We won't be going back there but will leave you to make your own mind up. I'm sure the restaurant will reply to deny this version so you will have to be the judge based upon my previous reviews.

Eight of us ate here and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Great presentation, particularly the chicken cooked and presented in a hollowed out pineapple. We had starters and mains which were all delicious. Unfortunately, one of the waiters was extremely surly and miserable, hence my four star rating. His colleague was very pleasant and professional.
