I personally LOVE any Indian takeaway/restaurant but I must say other Indians in Kendal have disappointed me in the past, this place however never has! Their dishes are so tasty and huge portions for not a lot of money! Staff are so helpful and friendly and I especially like the fact that at Christmas time they give out Christmas cards to all their customers, lovely little touch! Couldn't recommend this place enough :)

First visit to Mumbai and probably the last. I can forgive tired, unimaginative decor. I can forgive the chaotic atmosphere in the front part of the restaurant as the premises is small and there's no room for people to wait to be seated/to collect takeaway when the restaurant is full. What I can't forgive is unfriendly staff. I felt like a hindrance rather than a guest. This place is far too expensive for the quality of the dishes it serves. The best thing was the poppadoms and pickle tray, although this was over a fiver which is just ridiculous. The lamb was chewy and gristly, not slow cooked and soft as you'd expect. The rice hadn't been seasoned and was overcooked. Everything was laden with coriander, which I like very much but was too much even for me. The tarka daal was a lovely texture but again under seasoned and under spiced, and the huge lump of lemon in the dish made it too acidic and masked any other flavour. The restaurant was really busy on the saturday night I visited and takeaway orders being sent out all the time, so it's obviously a popular place but I must admit that after our experience I can't understand why.

I always like to give restaurants / take aways a chance before I give up on them. The silver mountain had a couple of false starts with me, but have now grown to be my favourite Chinese in Kendal. I had Szechuan special, salt and pepper special and chips. They were all very good. It isn't perfect by any means but it is now a solid performer, and I will go there before any other in town unless they are closed.

Welcome to Neko Sushi, located in the centre of Kendal. We are newly open take-away style restaurant specialising in delicious freshly made sushi. Limited seating available. Vegetarian and vegan options available.
Super enthusiastic chef/owner happy to explain to us sushi virgins how it all works. We enjoyed a relaxed hour here in the cafe style window seating, watching shoppers hurry by & listening to info & shared experiences of other diners too. Great fun watching a pre-teen learn how to open one of the "volcanic" Japanese lemonades, chap was so patient& friendly with her & her mum, he made the whole experience one she (and us) will not forget. Food was delicious, will look forward to our second visit.

Very middle of the road. Neither bad or good. Stayed with party of 8 and we all thought the same.Improve the food a bit and they'd be on to something. We ordered a set banquet but you might have better success ordering individual dishes.

Authentic,cosy and smart Thai restaurant
Staying in beautiful Kendal. Looked at TA reviews for local restaurants and noticed the favourable reviews for this restaurant.Restaurant beautifully decorated.Ordered share platter for two. Absolutely beautifully presented and delicious selection.Main of duck curry and a Paradise Duck. Both meals beautifully presented and delicious.Meals accompanied by a bottle of Italian Pinot Grigio - very tasty. Then we received the bill. 10% service charge? Are we in the USA?A quick google search informs that the 10% charge is discretionary- not mandatory and cannot be enforced. You can if you wish choose NOT to pay!The service was efficient, not necessarily friendly from server who appeared to come from NES background, but not Thai. Efficient sums up the service.Coming from a culture, where tipping and service charge is not the norm. This was a reasonably insignificant amount however, in principle IMHO it dampened what would have been a *5 rated meal.
