Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Kaikoura. In the Maori language, Kaikoura means "meal of crayfish," a nod to the New Zealand township's seafood-rich origins. Remnants of those early days can be found at Fyffe House, the oldest surviving building, and Kaikoura Museum. Today, the South Island settlement provides an ideal base camp for observing the abundant offshore wildlife (sperm whales, dusky dolphins, orcas and fur seals) and dining on fresh local catch. Numerous galleries showcase the knitting, pottery and jewelry of area artisans.

We are focused on serving Fresh and Delicious Thai Cuisine offering a range of dishes from all regions of Thailand. We offer an Extensive menu along with Great service and in comfortable and modern surroundings.
Restaurant looks fairly modest, but the food is good and we were more than happy with starters and mains - all very tasty. Drinks slightly on the pricey side, but overall still a pretty good option.

We popped in here about 4.55pm and the lady was very friendly and said that at 5pm everything would be half price so we could take anything at half price (even though it was not quite 5pm). There was still a good range available at this time.We chose some avocado and salmon (very fresh and yummy), teriyaki chicken, vegetarian and crispy chicken sushi and it was all really nice and half price made it even better. We will definitely be back the next time we come to Kaikoura.

The food is just only for take away but it is really great and fine. We enjoyed our meal and it is a great alternativ instead of going to a restaurant.

After a successful fishing trip, the captain suggested we bring some of our catch to this location to have it cooked. Having no idea how to prepare the huge crayfish we got, I went here to have that as well as some of the sea perch prepared for dinner. The preparation was very good - I was just shocked to learnt that they charged $20 per dish to cook the meat I brought in. I was expecting about half that, but didn't ask so didn't make a fuss beyond my surprise. I'm curious what they would have charged me if I had bought their meat...Hi Mark. Our price of cooking crayfishes and fishes is in the menu. We introduce many recipes of seafood. Then our kitchen staff clean and chop them to get them prepared for our chef to cook. Finally our FOH staff serve you hot delicious food. Hope you can understand our labor and cooking ingredient cost for cooking seafood. Thank you for the feedback. Wish you got a nice stay in Kaikoura.
