First visit. Last visit. Pros: thinking.... oh, they have a full bar. Cons: sushi pieces were very thinly sliced. Tuna resembled a shaving of unripened watermelon. Temperature of fish was lukewarm.... Did not like the color, cut, texture or taste. Also, they counted a fake crab stick as one of the sushi pieces. The California roll was mushy as if it had been made yesterday and refrigerated and then served to us. Even the lettuce in the salad was limp and we all. Ow it's not difficult to serve crisp iceberg lettuce in a salad. Nothing was good. There are better sushi restaurants at the beaches.

We stopped by for some quick late night sushi and were not disappointed. The restaurant was authentic with a sushi chef at the bar preparing in the open. Service and food excellent. Please give this review a helpful vote.

This place is really a gem in Jax Beach. Food is consistently good and they have very authentic Thai dishes and a wide selection. We like the happy hour specials were the appetizers and drinks are discounted so it allows you to try many different small bites. We enjoyed the shrimp in a nest, dumplings, wonton soup and crab rangoons. Everthing was EXCELLENT. Our service was superb and the food was divine. A great stop to consider when looking for Thai in Jax Beach.

Roy's has been one of our favorite restaurants. Since it had been a while since our last visit, we returned. Friends had complained to us that in their recent visit they had experienced extremely slow service, even when the restaurant was not busy. We visited on a slow Monday evening and indeed confirmed that the service was especially slow. No one explained or apologized. How long does it take to prepare edamame? That appetizer, previously complimentary, is now $7 and must be requested, since it is off-menu. Our impressions this time: yes, service was slow for no obvious reason; prices have crept up and are clearly high end for no obvious reason; service was friendly, but the delays were not due to the server; food was very tasty, as always. On the other hand, the bartender (sorry, I've forgotten her name) was especially fast, friendly, & competent. So, if you enjoy good food and do not care about higher prices and slower service, Roy's is the place to go.
