Find out what Asian restaurants to try in Islamabad. Serving as the capital of Pakistan since the Sixties, Islamabad was built according to a carefully organized plan, divided into sectors along a grid of clean, tree-lined streets. The city is sheltered by the Margalla Hills, the foothills of the Himalayas and the home of rare species of leopard, deer, birds, and even porcupines. Several hiking paths end at Daman-e-Koh, a picnic spot with a splendid view of the entire city, including the massive modernist Faisal Mosque and even the Rawal Dam.

Wild Rice is a far eastern restaurant at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad. They have a blend of chinese, japanese, malay and thai cuisines. The menu isnât meant to be extensive and traditional rather than fusion. I had the duck and thai lamb curry and grilled prawns. The lamb curry was bland and extremely short of pleasant but the other items were delicious. I wouldnât care to visit again as Iâm sure there are more exiting places in Islamabad, At $35 per head its a pricey joint.

You need to drive through a jungle to reach 1969 and that in itself is a different experience specially at night when you have most of the crowd for dinner. It has a dinning hall but most people prefers the open air sitting adjacent to the big lawns.. It has all kind of options but Pakistani Specialties and BBQ is most served food. They do lack is service sometimes but overall experience is very good.

A truly authentic Japenese Restaurant. As you dine with us you will not only savour the sumptous flavour but also the spectacular design that actually makes you feel that you are actually in Japan. Sakura is made to capture your heart and soul imagination
Dined twice at Sakura at a recent stay at Marriott Islamabad. Managed to try a few dishes and I found that food is generally pretty good. While it wasnât 100% authentic Japanese, the flavours were close enough. Whatâs most important is the food handling as raw fish that isnât fresh could give one a bad tummy upset. The restaurant is a wee bit too cold and decor was simplistic. Comments on the dishes as follows: - Tuna nigiri and assorted sushi platter was very nice. No complaints at all and I happily gobbled down the whole lot- nabeyaki or seafood udon wasnât great. It was acceptable but no where near authentic an udon- the salmon tataki or seared salmon was an extreme letdown. It wasnât seared properly, the salmon was breaking apart and it should not have been swimming in a pool of sauce- stir fried beef wasnât the best either as it was a bit too sweet for meThe reason why I gave Sakura 4 stars is mainly attributed to itâs good handling of sushi/sashimi. Also, this is Pakistan and it isnât easy to find a place that serves decent sushi or sashimi. Unfortunately, the rest of the dishes werenât great.

Offers Thai cusine. Two Private Rooms for Fine Dining one with the capacity of 10-persons and other with the capacity of 06-persons.
Had dinner once at the Royal Elephant which is the Thai restaurant at Marriott Islamabad. The restaurant is fairly well decorated although it was realistically too dark for me to see anything clearly. Ordered 3 dishes with steamed rice and had myself a decent meal. The green curry chicken came in a small bowl but there was lots of chicken inside and the taste of the curry pretty good. The stir fried mixed vegetables was the only vegetable dish on the menu and it was quite alright too. The last dish was a sliced fish with spicy sauce and that dish I quite liked. I found the flavours to be around 80% to what I could get back in Singapore so was happy enough. A good place to dine when one is overdosed with the local barbecue or curries.

I visited with a delegation of 20-ish and didn't see a bill .... so I can't really judge value-for-money.The setting is a much-renovated historical site. The decor does seem rather Disney-esque in tableau form. Nonetheless, the service is top-shelf, the food tasty and (so far as I'm able to judge...) authentic. The other customers were clearly the wealthy of Islamabad: families, couples, and business-tables. Lots of variety ~ based on curries and bbq-style meats. Of course, no alcohol or pork.

The Kabul Kitchen (KK) is an Islamabad landmark. In the warm summer evenings tables spread out onto the pavements and families sit outside talking and eating. The reason to come here is the excellent food - watch it being made over the grill. We ordered the kebabs and then the meat skewers - they were seared well, tasty and succulent and with rice and naan - it was just excellent. This is excellent value for money and a great place to watch Pakistani society walk by...there is also and excellent bakery. Go enjoy, trust the food and the people - you wont be disaapointed

The idea for Chaaye Khana was born from our love of tea. A cup of doodh patti in the evening, the Peshawari Kehwa after dinner, and of course, the morning cup of special tea to wake us up. This is what our culture is about, this is the benchmark of our ho
I must say that ambience is nice but dont expect great food and super service. Their server are untrained and food is OK. We ordered 3 eggs mexican omelette which was just plain with capsicum. The other dish was savouryz crepe which was filled with running cream and scrambled eggs. However if they improve on above both fronts then they can do good business as prices are reasonable.

I was on short business trip to Islamabad, I wanted to experience local food with scenic views. TripAdvisor shortlisted Monal as top destination. I can not claim any experience, but this restaurant matched my expectations: great food and amazing views. It looks it is always busy, and reservation is a must in order to have first range of tables next to borders. I have insisted to get one such seating as I donât have another chance to come back, and after several trials, they have conceded. Again: very recommended!
