Things to do in Highland
This is a storefront restaurant. The food is real chinese combined with dishes we expect in America. Speak with the cook. We ordered a seafood soup that was filled with shrimp and other sea food and fabulously flavored. We then had shrimp with scrambled eggs and onions and scallions. It was so tasty. We also ordered a filet of fish saute with chinese eggplant. This dish was mouthwatering. The prices are reasonable. Everything is cooked to order. We come here from New York every other week to visit someone in a nearby nursing home. The food here is served beautifully. We wish they were closer.

Non-traditional Chinese meaning forget sugar and heavy sauce. Many many vegetarian and vegan choices. This restaurants delivers!! Family owners are friendly and responsive. A very very welcome not only to Chinese menus, but to vegetarian/vegan/low fat cuisine, not to mention Chan's vice like monopoly on American Chinese food. Eat there, do take out, have delivery - make this the #1 restaurant in town!

Pad mango is located near St Francis hospital and Marist college. The food is very good, fresh ingredients and authentic Thai dishes. I had the pad Thai, spicy soup and toong thong. Delicious! Definitely a good spot for lunch and very close to many local attractions (walkway over the Hudson, locust grove etc..)

I wanted to recommend this little gem of a Japanese restaurant which is conveniently located right at the Metro North train station. It used to be just one room with a small sushi bar and if you walked in, you would never expect the fantastic quality of food. Of course, it got so popular, it had to expand and now has several tables and plenty of space. There is a wide variety on the menu, everything is extremely fresh and beautifully prepared. My favorites are the avocado salad and age tofu. My granddaughter introduced me to the Spiderman rolls (her favorite). The tea has that smoky, deep flavor of the best green tea. You might not find such perfect Japanese food outside of New York City. And the price is ten times more affordable.
